Jackson is the only real concern that I have. Maclin has skills but he isn't scary. Jackson is flat out terrifying. People always talk about a guy who plays a step faster than everyone else but Jackson is a guy who plays 2 steps faster than everyone else.

He's like Felix in that you watch the college footage and think there is no way they can be that ahead of everyone else at the pro level but they are.

I tell ya one thing though. If either of those guys comes across the middle, they had better be prepared to get a lick. This secondary is playing mean right now and anybody who thinks they can trot through there with ease has another thing coming.

The front seven are going to be important as can be. They gotta get pressure and cannot give any extra time in the pocket. Dallas needs to get up on Jackson and try to slow him at the line. If you're gonna play a man over the top, you gotta try to overpower him at the snap.

Knock him at the line and have help over the top. You can't let him get moving because nobody on the team can keep up. Pressure McNabb and don't allow quick scores and absolutely do not fall behind by more than a score.

This is pretty evenly matched game IMO and I think the home team takes it in both matchups.
Agreed. I don't know what's gotten into them, but they have been laying people out. I think Newman leads the team with 3 FF's. And Sensabaugh and Jenkins have been laying the wood.

I'm not looking these up either.

Burleson= catching that seam route deep pass. No help over the top.
Sensabaugh was in coverage on this pass with Newman.

Steve Smith(sorry not Manningham)= Double move on Scandrick in the slot for a TD. No help over the top.
Again, that's on Sensabaugh. Smith went down the left side of the field. Sensabaugh was the deep safety on that side of the field. Hamlin was on the opposite side of the field.

Dwayne Bowe=Seam pass for the game tying TD. Hamlin completely lost.
Pat Watkins and Mike Jenkins were in coverage.

Mark Clayton=Long pass at the end of the first half. No help over the top. Hamlin in lala land.
We haven't played the Ravens.

These are just a few I can spout off. I'm sure there's dozens more, but your original post saying Hamlin hasn't gotten beat on a deep pass more then once this year is comical.
Congrats on not naming a single play where Hamlin gave up a long pass.

by your stats he has given up less than one? so he is the greatest ever? :D
According to PFF, through Week 8, of the 50 safeties that have played the most snaps in the NFL, only three safeties have given up fewer passes than Ken Hamlin.

I meant Michael Clayton. Plays on the Bucs. So go stick that into your play machine and see what comes up.

Looks like Hamlin was on the opposite side of the field playing a zone. Thus, nowhere near his responsibility. Sensabaugh was in the middle of the field, so it might have been his responsiblity, though there were 3 players running routes on the opposite side, so Sensy probably made the right read and stayed on that side of the field.

0-4 on plays. Can you think of any others?

Ive said since pre-season Philly is fast but weak. So if they jack up Mac, Mccoy, and Mcnabb itll throw them off.

Forget about hitting Jackson, hes a carpet diver.

Actually don't waste your time..

Hamlin sucks

/thread

You shouldn't throw stones if you live in a glass house. According to the list of plays you provided Sensabaugh sucks, not Hamlin. Hell maybe you suck.

Sensabaugh doesn't suck. Far from it, actually. But he's not as great in coverage as everyone makes him out to be. And Hamlin's not as bad as everyone makes him out to be.

We use M Jenk and T New on them. Throw in a little O Scand and G Sens and we could definitely limit them. Have to wonder who will cover B Cel as well.

i think if you give hamlin the job of staying over jackson with who ever else they decide to put on him i think he should do a pretty good job. hamlin seems to make more mistakes when its his decision on what reads to make. sens should do a better job on run stopping and te reads.

...right on Hoof...this is the final step in a greater Dallas defense...a physically intimidating secondary...Jackson is around 175lbs iirc and you're right about his speed...Hamlin in particular will need to turn in his best game...they should look to redirect and harrass Jackson when possible...if they can build on the last two games they give the defense a chance to get off the field...

...it's Ware-Ratliff-Spencer vs. McNabb and the offensive line...

That's certainly not on Hamlin.

This one could be. Hard to tell from that angle and you'd have to know the coverage. But I'll be generous and give this one to you.

You've now found one single play where Hamlin gives up a deep ball. Out of "dozens."
