I can’t remember the last time it was so obvious a guy was taking something and if he passed the drug test then that speaks a lot of how weak the NFL testing is for steroids.

or maybe he's an athletic freak? His numbers put him in the top percentile of WRs, which means that there have been others who have similar metrics, but obviously very few.

The thing is you can't get so caught up by his attributes and results that you escalate him beyond what he is. He's a mid-to-late 1st round pick. Some will overdraft him some but it's not like he's a 4th round guy who's suddenly a 1st rounder.

His cone drill times were not good, which is a big red flag.
Yep, suggests no change-of-direction skills, aka stiffness. You're going to want to use him for the deep ball and maybe some jail or tunnel screens where he can bully defenders.

His stride and the way his feet contact the ground is incredibly smooth.

Yea, they were downright bad.

The 40 is fun, but the short area drills IMO are Moreso important for just about every position.

DK will get way overdrafted, but he’s not a top 10 talent.

It's an interesting situation for sure. On one hand, "super fast in a straight line but can't cut" screams Heyward-Bey or Taylor Mays to me. In general, having a 40 that's faster than your short shuttle is both rare and a big red flag. Having a 40 almost 2 tenths faster than your shuttle (4.33 vs 4.50) is a level of straight line-ness that's literally unheard of.

My "positive" comparison for him would probably be Mike Evans, as a jumbo-sized receiver who dominates on the vertical patterns. But looking him up, Evans ran a 7.08 3 cone and 4.26 short shuttle at 6'4" 230. 7.00 is about the threshold you want to see for the cone drill, so those agility scores are actually decent considering his size. Metcalf ran a 7.38 3 cone and 4.50 shuttle, which is way worse than Evans.

He needs to be, and will be used like Terrell Owens. Deep routes, crossing routes, slants.
His tape is very good, the kid can play.

It’s bold to compare his usage to that of one of the hardest workers in NFL history.

The kid has 67 career catches.
Technically, there’s not a ton of tape and he’s coming off a neck injury that required surgery.

I’m rooting for him, but that’s a bold name to throw out is all.

I wasnt comparing his game to TO, more just trying to emphasize there is a way to use those without short area quickness.

He’s an interesting case for sure.

It’s going to come down if a team wants to draft more for potential or what they’ve seen on tape.

His tape is pedestrian, you don’t really see him winning routes. It’s more of him just bowing by people and using athleticism.

Another carddelle paterson with that speed but offset with the cone time
Apptitude....see how he interviews and tests

He has some freakish wow plays in the limited amount of playing time he has had.

Without a doubt.
He’s a freak. And he torched some good schools.

I just worry about the fact he has less yards in his career than his teammate had just last season. Toss in the neck surgery he had last year.

I love the thought of what he could do at this level, but sadly we never seem to take guys or are in a position to take guys like this at WR.

Who was our tallest one in recent memory?
Devin street maybe?

He's TOO BIG to be a wideout at the next level. He does look like a darn good tightend prospect though if he's willing to play both positions. I think he will slide into round 2.

Guess I see him as more of a possession receiver running post, corners, seams, etc.
