Not that I agree with the pick, but we all were puzzled when Frederick was picked that early. I wouldn't be happy about Randall at that spot but........... as hard as it is to believe, I might give the front office the benefit of the doubt given how they've done very well in our most recent drafts.

I wouldn't even draft Randall in the 2nd. So either Collins or B.

i would bet they draft Grdon.

Very well could if he is there. Given some recent comments by Jerry and Stephen I just highly doubt they will stay at 27. Really comes down to how the prospects fall in this draft.
And of course who is making the offer. If you are talking a top 10 pick in the 2nd rd it could very well be in Dallas best interest to move to the 2nd rd.

I think that the close the draft has approached the more he has climbed and I think it is due to this safety class being so sparse in top end talent.

What's your take on him? Do you think he'd be a starter here?

Ok there was a PFT mock that had Damarious Randall going to us in the first round at 27.
I seen another mayock mock where he had Damarious Randall going to the eagles above us and had us taking Collins from Alabama.

I also seen some other oddball draft that had us taking Randall on a youtube video.

Now yesterday someone wrote that there was a rumor on a radio show that the Cowboys have an existing trade standing where we would swap firsts with the Dolphins, give up our third this year and a fourth next year to move up and get RB Melvin Gordon.

So here is the premise of this thread. This is not a take someone else instead, this is not a trade down instead scenario answer.

This is either A or B and no C question.

Would you rather...

A. At 27 take Damarious Randall or Landon Collins

OR

B. Take the Miami trade and take Melvin Gordon.

I will hang up and listen

A.

I don't want to draft Gordon at 27 and I definitely don't want to throw away draft picks for a player that might be available without trading up.

He would be more of the Free Safety (cover) than the Strong Safety (box) ones that we have now.

Maybe he starts at one safety spot and Wilcox/Church fights it out for the SS.

But would he be a starter or not? I really don't know if he could win it or not. The cowboys sure do seem to like him though.

I take A and go with Randall. Cowboys are very interested and I have to go with them. I'm not giving up picks for any RB not named Gurley.

I would really hate to give up a three, and I would REALLY like for it to be Gurley, but if the Cowboys are convinced on Gordon, let the trading begin. :)
