Ok there was a PFT mock that had Damarious Randall going to us in the first round at 27.
I seen another mayock mock where he had Damarious Randall going to the eagles above us and had us taking Collins from Alabama.

I also seen some other oddball draft that had us taking Randall on a youtube video.

Now yesterday someone wrote that there was a rumor on a radio show that the Cowboys have an existing trade standing where we would swap firsts with the Dolphins, give up our third this year and a fourth next year to move up and get RB Melvin Gordon.

So here is the premise of this thread. This is not a take someone else instead, this is not a trade down instead scenario answer.

This is either A or B and no C question.

Would you rather...

A. At 27 take Damarious Randall or Landon Collins

OR

B. Take the Miami trade and take Melvin Gordon.

I will hang up and listen

B. No question. Gordon will be a star with our OL

I would take the Miami trade and I am not in support of giving up any choices. I just do not like Randall in that spot and I do not know how Collins is going to make this defense better with his skillset.

Melvin Gordon. But I get the feeling the Cowboys will trade out of the 27th spot and pick up the extra picks in the 2nd.

This. Given the two options, I take the trade.

I agree, I do not believe we are interested in trading up. If they move, it will probably be to drop out of the round. That would be disappointing to have to wait until Friday to see them make a choice, but it would be in our best interest.

There apparently are a bunch of teams at the top of the second looking to move up for players like Bryce Petty, the tackles that might be available, etc.

I agree it will be disappointing to wait that long only to see us trade out of the 1st rd but I think while this draft does not have much in terms of elite prospects even early in the draft I think there is some very good solid players through out this draft and if Cowboys are able to get a couple of players in the 2nd rd I think we actually better are odds of hitting on a very good player

It is the best thing in the long run, although it will be painful to sit through the whole first only to trade out.

True, all we will have day 1 is the joy of making fun of others. :)
I guess it is the fact that I keep seeing these mocks with so many guys bouncing all over the place that is making me think we can get equal talent in the 2nd rd as opposed to the 1st.

Yuck. I hate all of the options, but I'd go the Gordon route. At 14 however, Gurley might be in play. Just sayin'.....

Masochist!

I feel obligated to take
A)

And I just threw up some in my mouth

But I'm not giving up a very valuable extra 3rd and next years 4th to move up for a back who I like, but who may or may not even be better than several I could find later in the draft.

In reality, that trade balance is so far out of whack in our favor that you could trade up, get the 14th pick and retrade it for way more than you gave up.

It should (and would) really be a 2015 2nd rounder and maybe next years 3rd, not this years 3rd and next year's 4th.

Plus, it was mentioned above that Gurley may be there at 14 and that's very true.

Notice in the PFT mock, Gordon was not even taken int he 1st round...at all.

Hate both but would take option A. Rather have the picks over giving away 2 picks for a running back. I'd move Collins to free safety and have Church and Wilcox battle it out at the strong safety spot.

Given these 2 options I pick neither

Do I want to be shot or poisoned? What kind of choice is that ?

I too hate these options but I'd take Gordon.
What is going on with all of this Randall hype??? Seems like it just exploded over the past week.

I'd do the trade for Gordon in a heartbeat. Getting to 14 and not touching our 2nd? That's good livin'.

It has been slowly building. Was a 4th round type in February and has been climbing since. I think this talk of him being first round worthy is just insane.

I think that the close the draft has approached the more he has climbed and I think it is due to this safety class being so sparse in top end talent.
