D to win the game

I am hopeful that Kiffin & Marinelli are smart enough not to play a soft Tampa 2 this week against a QB and offense as hot as Philly's. Foles and McCoy would just pick them apart and dominate time of possession. In this game, I would rather see Church at single high safety, Carr/Scandrick/Claiborne in press man underneath, and Wilcox walked up as the 8th man in the box to stop McCoy and blitz Foles. Let Foles beat the corners deep with perfect passes. Other than D Jax, their WRs do not scare me. If Foles hits on a few long passes, so be it. I would rather that than "death by a thousand paper cuts" underneath. Dictate, do not get dictated to.

Nice post. We'll see what they do. I too am afraid of the slow march down the field.

All they need to do is exactly what they did in the 1st game against the Eagles.

Be physical, very physical, bump the WR's at the LOS, pressure Foles, knock him down every time even if it's not a sack. Hard hits and tackles on McCoy. Make them think of being hit every time, so it takes them out of their rhythm and timing.

We been missing this type of play for a long time, so change it up, hit em' hard, then hit em' again and again!

Press their receivers and keep a safety over the top on Jackson at all times.

About all you can do with McCoy is tackle well.

I think Ertz is the matchup problem we'll really struggle with.

Their offense runs off of mccoys success. Take away Mccoy and you stop the eagles!

Sean Lee basically shut down McCoy last time and in effect shut down the Eagles offense. We are very depleted in the LB dept. so it's up to Orton and the weapons on offense to just score more or at least answer back if and when the Eagles start to put up points.

there simply is not the healthy physical talent to get it done up front. Simple as that.

OP, nice post. I'd flip Church into the box since his best attribute is stopping the run and make tackles. We need him up front to fill the gaps and disrupt a few screens.

I think that you are repeating the obvious. But we are still going to play the game. And guess what. We're winning tomorrow. Just going to have to score more as I am quit sure they will get more than 3 this week.

Last game they played a lot of nickel and used mostly Carter and Lee as the only LBers. Holloman has to play the Mike and I don't know if he can. He was a roving LB/DE and S at Carolina and hasn't played the Mike until 3 days ago. I'd consider putting Church at the Mike if Holloman has problems. He will likely be busy though.

So, is our first game vs Philly lumped in to the other 15? If so,what did we do wrong in that game on defense?
Law of averages I guess? Who knows. Did they repeat that in any of the other games or could you only pick that one?

I like the Church idea. Full time LB in the future since he can't cover.
