Firstly, this mock is assuming we sign the following FA

NT - Paul Soliai
FS - Michael Huff
RT - Tyson Clabo

Trade down with Miami - they want Glabbert before Washington picks. We receive an additional 2nd.

1) Cameron Jordan - DE
- IMO the 2nd best defensive linemen in the class. Brings a ton of pass rush from the end position and plays the run just as well. Has experience as a 3-4 end. I know most will call this a reach, but trust me, by April, it won't be.

2a) Mason Foster - ILB
This guys a complete stud. If he played at a BCS school he'd be a first rounder without a doubt. Look for him to rise after the Sr bowl and combine. Led the NCAA in tackles this year, great range, can rush the passer, all around ILB. We have no shot at T'eo, Burflict, or Skov next year, so might aswell go MLB here.

2b)Marcus Cannon - G
Mammoth of a man. Can come in and start day one. He's been dominant at TCU. Probably the best run blocker in the class, and just as capable at pass blocking. Great player.

3) Ahmad Black - SS
Wanted to give us Sash here, but I think he'll be gone. Black probably has the broadest skillset out of all the safeties this year (best all around safety). 110 tackles, 2 sacks, 5 INT, 2 FF, TD. I think he could do great things in Rob Ryan scheme and think he should be used like Polamalu in Pittsburgh, where he's aloud to roam around in the secondary and just do his own thing, again cause of his skillset.

4) Stanley Havili - RB/FB
Ok, heres our goaline back and short yardage runner. Great weapon out of the backfield, and will become a fan favorite. We could do great things if we add a FB/RB of his quality in our offense.

5) Cecil Shorts III - WR
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this guy. He has great speed, perfect slot receiver, great return skills, and he even runs the ball. Our new slot receiver.

6) Davon House - CB
Great cover corner with GREAT ball skills. 10 PB and 3 picks this year. Still this late. Drops this far cause he plays for the worst team in division 1 football.

7) Lee Ziemba - OT
Depth. Competition. Can play both Tackle spots.

What do you guys think? Would love to hear some opinions.

This makes our 2011 starters:
LDE: Cameron Jordan
NT - Paul Soliai
RDE - Ratliff

OLB - Ware
ILB - Sean Lee
ILB - Mason Foster/Bradie James
OLB - Anthony Spencer/Victor Butler

CB - Jenkins
FS - Michael Huff
SS - Ahmad Black
CB - Newman

NCB - House/Scandrick.

WR - Bryant
WR - Austin
Slot - Cecil Shorts

RT - Tyson Clabo
G - Kyle Kosier
C - Andre Gurode
G - Marcus Cannon
LT - Free

QB - Tony Romo

HB - Felix/Choice

FB - Stanley Havili

Davon House will be a 2nd/3rd rounder and I doubt Ziemba is there in the 7th. I like your first five picks, though.

You better know I'd like this draft. Not crazy about round 1, but the rest is great.

Good draft, but Miami doesn't have a 2nd rounder this year due to the Brandon Marshall trade.

Thanks, Hos.

I don't know. I love Jordan. Think he'll be great as an end in a 3-4.

He's okay, but not great and with a top 10 pick I want great.

I traded down with Miami so its 16th if I remember correctly.

And I'm trying to find a link, but I was watching ESPNs First Take, and they had a scout on, and he said Jordans 3 on his big board and thinks he'll go top 5. FWIW.

You thought this through pretty well, imo.
Nice effort!

I may do it a bit differrenty but you have the puzzle fitting together well, so who can argue much with that?

Thanks man.

What would you do differently out of curiosity?

I don't think a lot of it is feasible. Clabo will stay in ATL, Ziemba will go before the 7th, we wont' get a second to trade down 7 spots, etc etc. Nice try anyway though, appreciate the effort.

Clabo will stay in ATL - You don't know that

we wont' get a second to trade down 7 spots - Yes we will, assuming Miami trades up to select a QB they want.

Ziemba - probably not, but anything can happen.

Like i said, I like the players and slots if you can get them there.
But, for example:
Miami does not have a 2nd rounder....though I do like Cannon.
I think Foster can be had a little later.
There may a couple that I swtich out, that's all. I like Deunta Williams in the 3rd, for example.

Although you didn't ask me, here is what I would do in your scenario:

Firstly, this mock is assuming we sign the following FA

DE - Richard Seymour
FS - Michael Huff
LG - Logan Mankins

*Your FA signings don't have enough "splash" for Jerry, especially coming off such a dismal disappointment of a season. While I don't believe Clabo will leave ATL, neither will Dahl (but he's one of my favorites). More realistic RT & OG options: Carl Nicks, Jeremy Trueblood, Davin Joseph. And I prefer Weddle to Huff, or even re-signing Sensabaugh. But I did not want to mess with your scenario too much. Especially since Huff is a Ryan guy.

**One other note: this offseason is going to have one of the best corner classes in FA history (Champ, Asomugha, Joseph, Cromartie, et al) - just throwing that out there.

Trade down with Miami - they want Glabbert before Washington picks. We receive an additional 2nd.

1) Stephen Paea - NT
Paea is a rich man's Rubin, whom Ryan is very familiar with and has had some success. Paea is as powerful as Olshansky but more explosive & more productive. Paea is similar to Casey Hampton in size, but much more athletic, disruptive (sub 4.9 40). A Playmaker at the Nose.

2a) Mark Herzlich - ILB
Other ILB options here: Martez Wilson, Bruce Carter. Mason Foster is a good player, but not in the 2nd IMO. He is in the same tier as maybe Quan Sturdivant, just not as athletic (4.7 40). Foster is very good against the run, but not instinctive at all in pass coverage. Combine that with his lack of speed, he's a Bradie James type. Cowboys want to improve their coverage ability at the ILB spots. Foster does not provide this.
2b)

Marcus Cannon - RT
Mammoth of a man. Can come in and start day one. He's been dominant at TCU. Probably the best run blocker in the class, and just as capable at pass blocking. Great player.
*Love this pick. Like Ijalana & Love, can play OG and OT.

*Big fan of this pick as well. Black is always around the action. If he was 2 inches taller or 10 lbs heavier he would be a first day pick.

4) John Moffit - RG/C
Gotta take Moffit here. He is great value, especially at a position that needs upgrade. Tough slobber knocker in run game, has experience at center as well.

5) Cecil Shorts III - WR
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this guy. He has great speed, perfect slot receiver, great return skills, and he even runs the ball. Our new slot receiver.

6) Mark LeGree - FS
Kid has 24 career INTs (led the nation with 10 in 2009). Pure ballhawk who is also a force against the run. Only 6'0 200 4.5 and plays at a FCS schoool so falls, but has great instincts & work ethic. Consistently dominated.

7) Charles Clay - FB
Bigger (6'3 245 4.6), more versatile and better value than Havili (although I really like Havili as well, just not that early). Playmaker with the ball in his hands, whether its receiving or rushing. Good in pass pro too. Very productive.

What do you guys think? Would love to hear some opinions.

This makes our 2011 starters:
LDE: Richard Seymour
NT - Stephen Paea

RDE - Ratliff

ROLB - Ware
SILB - Sean Lee/Bradie James
WILB - Mark Herzlich
LOLB - Anthony Spencer/Victor Butler

CB - Jenkins
FS - Sam Huff/Mark LeGree
SS - Ahmad Black
CB - Newman

NCB - Scandrick.

WR - Bryant
WR - Austin
Slot - Cecil Shorts

RT - Marcus Cannon
RG - John Moffit
C - Andre Gurode
LG - Logan Mankins
LT - Doug Free

QB - Tony Romo

HB - Felix Jones

FB - John Phillips/Charles Clay

I would be on board with bringing in Michael Huff. He's good, not great, but as long as he can tackle he'll excel with this team.

based on all the mocks I have read, House has gone no later than the 3rd. So unless he has a horrible combine, I do not see him falling to us in the 6th round.....but fear not, there is CB Ryan Jones of NW Missouri St. Because he went to a small school, he should be there in the 6th..... I would also like to add a 2nd 6th and get S Mark LeGree from Appalachian St., cause he is an absolute ballhawk.
