Why can't we score in the preseason? Other offenses are scoring big this weekend, right?

Seahawks 7
Bills 16
Packers 7
49ers 16
Vikings 6
Dolphins 13
Jaguars 13
Eagles 16
Rams 6 (4th quarter)
Chargers 13 (4th quarter)
Bucs 14
Giants 7
Lions 15
Chiefs 19
Falcons 3
Ravens 17
Saints 14
WFT 13
Jets 12

We don't have great backup QBs. Few teams do. We don't have great o-line depth but nearly no teams do. That's why you get this 'weak-end' point production. It's just annual preseason crap.

So we could have tied Atlanta if we played them in the Hall of Fame game.

We've been playing with our punter as our FG kicker.

Preseason serves only to let the rest of us know which posters we can comfortably ignore during the coming season. The only people who freak out are those with agendas to push.

Messages I read on preseason from the fans are much different than the messages coaches are providing during preseason games as portrayed on Hard Knocks. Coaches are expecting the players to execute. They do care about scoring and they do care about winning, just not to the extent of pulling out all the stops to do so.

Rams, Falcons, Giants and Seahawks couldn't even get 200 yards total offense. Just ugly.

Hooray. So scrubs on other teams stink, too. Doesn't make me feel better about our scrubs.

Honestly I don't get people complaining about our backup QB situation. If Dak gets injured, then we're gonna become a run heavy offense, and let's say Dak misses 4 games, you have to ask yourself, "Can Gilbert do enough to get a 2-2 record, and I think he can. If Dak is out for more than a quarter of the season, then it doesn't matter who the backup QB is, we're screwed.

Scrubs don't win Super Bowls. Playmakers do, and we've been sitting ours to keep our powder dry. (Not that I think we are SB contenders)

Relax. Enjoy. Kick up your feet. Preseason games mean nothing.

I haven't really watched much of anyone else yet but I did watch a little of the broncos vikings today. The broncos came out with a completely different approach than the usual first preseason game approach. Looked like Pat Shurmur has them running the zone scheme up front again. They were gashing the vikings backups and then hit them with the usual shanahan passing game starting with the bootleg.

Stopped watching after Surtain jumped a simple out route and returned it for a touchdown. Looks like zimmer just said the hell with this game and just threw the backups out there with no preparation or something, the vikings looked awful. Doesn't mean anything but the two contrasting styles from the coaching staffs was interesting. The broncos approach was we need all the snaps for the young players we can get and are taking this serious...the vikings approach was we have stars all over our roster and none of them are playing so lets just get this over with.

Usually the home teams come out and try at least for a series or two since their fans paid for tickets..at least this is how it has been traditionally.

I can't believe zimmer is still the head coach in Minnesota and I imagine this is it for him. His qb is a mental case and they always find a way to screw things up when it matters.

I disagree w/almost every sentence, every letter you just wrote. LMAO You are actually taking these 'games' seriously?
Before I bother to deconstruct further and waste any more time on your post, let me get your opinion: when games count in 2021 who will win more games, the Vikings or the Broncos?

Mike Zimmer is a great coach. And as for a head case... I'd vote the Vikings QB incredibly sensible and you a bit "off" at this point (to be generous). Maybe I'm missing something?

I literally wrote Doesn't mean anything right there in english.

I was talking directly about the conflicting approaches (AS I CLEARLY STATED) the two teams had. Minnesota thinks its a big time contender so no one plays and the effort looked awful. Denver knows they are not a contender and everyone plays and the effort was really high. Two entirely different approaches to this first preseason game.

Oh and again Cousins is totally nuts.

Before immediately attacking someone and start with the insults...you should probably have basic comprehension of words and meanings.

The preseason is usually a poor indication of performance going forward.

The last time I can remember a team separating during preseason was the year the Rams and Trent Green went on a rampage and were lighting everyone up in preseason games.

Then Green went down to a season ending injury and Kurt Warner stepped in and made history.

Aside from that one example I can't recall preseason ever translating to real success.

This fan base is notorious for not understanding what other teams do….I don’t know how they gauge this team….
