yet his completion percentage is top 10. TD percentage is top 10. YAC for the team is top 10....

He’s not infallible. I’ve never said he was. He’s not in the Brady, Mahomes or Rogers class. But he’s more than capable of leading the Cowboys to a Super Bowl. Don’t come in on your high horse and infer anything different from what I’ve said.

But using aggregate stats without context and then claiming that everyone was wrong about his inaccuracy does exactly that.

It's only a problem if it's a frequent occurrence. Which by the numbers it isn't. His percentage of on target throws is higher than Herbert and Mahomes.. slightly behind Rodgers, Brady and Burrow and WAY higher than Allen. If Dak has an accuracy problem that what does that say about these other guys?

I don't think Dak has an accuracy problem now. His technique lapses on occasion, but he has accuracy now. Early in his career he just didn't seem to ground himself when the threw.

The most impressive thing is how he improved his deep accuracy. Early in his career, he would have overthrown Pollard, but last game, perfectly in stride.

Pat Mahomes QB rating last week was 144. He has 3 GAMES of 85 or less.
ALL QBs are impacted by situations outside their play and have highs and lows.
Even the very best.

Thats why you average all that stuff out and grade accordingly.
Dak was injured week 1 behind a makeshift OL.
He's been improving weekly since returning.
And right now he has a better QBR and QB rating then Aaron Rodgers, the defending League MVP.

So you are saying if you had to win 1 important game you take Dak over Rodgers?

Dak does not have the proper mechanics to warrant a “Mahomes” type contract.

Absolutely not.
But that was never the question.
And in fact the point is Rodgers is pretty bad right now because his offense has failed around him and he is injured.
This is the guy who is arguably the most naturally talented QB of all-time.
And he is capable of sucking.

As is Dak when he is injured and playing behind a makeshift OL.

But the accuracy bit is complete nonsense.
Dak is more accurate than even many of the large handful of QBs who are better than him overall.
His completion % and yards per attempt place him 7th or so in accuracy this year. But that jumps to top 4 if you include only the last 4 games.
He's completed over 75 percent of his throws three times since mid-October.

And as you look forward there's a decent chance he ends up with another weapon outside in OB and a LT he blindly trusts in Tyron Smith.

Now back to Rodgers: He is going to face continued struggle as his team is short on talent and long on issues. Part of that was AR forcing the pay raise to 50M a year.
I'd take AR for one game but I'd take Dak for the next 3 years.

Dak's mechanics are not an issue.
His requirement for his mechanics to be on point is.
He doesn't have the natural arm talent to side arm or adlib passes.

Dak does NOT have a Mahomes contract.
Pat makes half a BILLION dollars and 45M AAV.
Dak is tied for 8th in AAV at 40M.

He makes 8m a year less than Russell Wilson and 6M a year less than Kyler Murray.
He makes 500K less a year than Derek Carr.

He makes 6.5M a year more than Jared Goff and 8 M a year more than Carson Wentz.
He has the exact sale deal as the much older Matthew Stafford.

His salary is right in line with his production.
You don't have to like it but pretending he is overpaid relative to his position and peers is simply incorrect.
And saying he has a Mahomes deal is just complete and utter nonsense. He touches zero facets of Pat's deal. Length, GTD, AAV, total cash.
