No, because I, and many others, have repeatedly stated that the throw deep down the sideline is one of Dak's strengths, just like rolling to his right and throwing on the run. He's made that throw multiple times very nicely.

It's between the numbers downfield when he has to throw in windows within zone defenses with accuracy that he struggles mightily to date. Teams can press the box and leave the middle deep covered with a single safety, and he hasn't yet demonstrated the ability to consistently deliver the ball in there.

They bracketed Beasley last year, and he couldn't make them pay. They loaded the box, and he still chose to dump the ball down.

But he can throw that quick strike down the sideline very nicely. Has since he got here.

Accuracy in 2017 on passes that travel further than 10 yards downfield between the hash mark and the numbers on either side of the field (seam passes, key to beating the popular cover 3, and it helps a lot to have a downfield threat at TE, which didn't exactly fit the description of Witten):
Dak 64.5%, 6th among full-time starters

I do agree they need to have more attempts deep though, but I think personnel also played a factor there.

That supposed to be Star Citizen are something? An infinite development cycle and loads of feature creep on a glorified tech demo still in alpha since 2012 means that "game" is swamp gas. Vaporware.

Looks like Starcraft my man.

Isn’t it amazing how Dak can toss 30 yard passes with touch and accuracy when he has a receiver who can separate downfield? Say it ain’t so!!! Isn’t that something he’s supposedly unable to do? Or was I dreaming?

Defender had good position. Anything could have happened if the defender hadn't lost the ball.

10 yards "downfield" and in is basically where Dak lives. That's a problem.

Anything didn’t happen tho. What did happen was Dak threw a perfectly accurate pass for a 30 yard touchdown. Despite the interference by the CB

A perfectly accurate pass to a receiver who was well covered and the defender lost the play.

Sure hope all the CBs do that this year.

That play just goes to show what lens you're viewing Dak through makes all the difference.

If you're a Dak doubter, then you see a play in which the cornerback messed up and Dak made a throw that's in his wheelhouse.

If you're more of a Dak backer, then you see a play where Dak initially looked at the tight end to manipulate the safety, hit the top of his drop, and then threw an accurate pass down the field to a receiver that paced his route well.
