Why did it take so long for everyone to come to this conclusion? Need 7 years to make this conclusion? Most QB's get 2-4 years to prove their worth. The only thing better is watching what Philly does with Hurts or Baltimore does with Jackson. Those guys are set to make 200 million+. And neither is a 200 million dollar franchise QB. Baltimore will let Lamar walk and smartly so I think. Iggles will pay and be disappointed when Hurts can't run in 1-2 years.

To be fair, coaching has a bit to do with it. Purdy was San Fran's third starter and the first two aren't spectacular QBs but did well in the role.

Jerry acknowledged that he is overpaying Dak but is not willing to make the correct action. The team went 4-1 when Dak was injured which supports the notion that the team is good enough to win without him.

If you can't get a Burrow or a Mahomes, the next best thing is a QB who doesn't make many mistakes. Purdy has a good arm, makes quick decisions, and doesn't seem to make bad plays. You can build a team around that if you aren't spending 50M on QB. Their GM doesn't stand pat on the laurels of the previous season either. What a move to go out and get McCaffrey mid season.
