Dak - a balanced thread

Here we go with the excuses, he LOST the team LOST. Did he do anything the entire game? Besides the throw to cooper that was all cooper he sucked

So Aaron Donald lost the Super Bowl two days ago, because that losing loser LOST.

Players who suck don't QB a playoff team and go to a Pro Bowl. Its beyond silly that I even have to type that out here.

You're going to have your views but using your logic everybody that does wrong is just pretending to be nice. I'm sure you can see how that logic doesn't work but on this topic you probably don't care. He has self reflected but truth is it will never be good enough for you and that's your right. Being realistic what could he do where you'd say he'd change? That's why it's a sounds good saying but in actual application doesn't work out imo. Again your entitled to your view as you know just when you actually know someone and a person that doesn't just goes by the worse they've done as a judgment on them overall. Thanks for your reply.
I understand your point of view, but I couldn't even tell you how much would be "enough" to believe that brutally killing and injuring innocent animals for fun and sport was an anomalous act.

I'm not closing the book on Dak at all. He can get better. But steps need to be taken for him to get better. He needs improved coaching and a modernized offensive scheme that simplifys his progressions. He is being held back by poor coaching, IMO. Especially the HC and his fossilized schemes.

Better OL will help. But even when he had clean pockets this year he was still holding the ball too long. He either doesn't trust what he is seeing or he doesn't see it at all. Not sure which. He needs to be more decisive and pull the trigger sooner. I think he can only play in a 1 or 2 read offense. After that, his mechanics fall apart.

He's not Nathan Peterman as some around here claim. But he's not Aaron Rodgers either. And never will be.

Agree on all points. Dak is never going to be an elite Aaron Rodgers type but he is certainly capable of being a Steve McNair type that has a winning skillset.

I have no idea why people give into Risen Star's need for attention.

He's a troll that constantly throws out bait just to feel important. If you ignore him he might just go away.

He’s the forum villain persona, completely harmless...

Go look at the stats of Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers and Tony Romo after three years in the league. Giving them more than three years seems to have been a good idea.
Its really laughable

We don't address the QB position with a 1st round Draft pick for 30yrs .

We pin ALL our hopes to an UDFA with a bad back

Some how his 4th rd back up comes in and leads us to the playoffs 2 out of 3 yrs

And we have 5 Idiots moaning he dosent have the passing skills of Dan Marino . With the amount of preparation we made for Romos departure we are lucky Dak can even play in the NFL let alone bring us back from 3-5 and make the playoffs .

Many drafted ahead of him cant even begin to start an NFL game . We have been lucky to have been as successful as we have been considering the lack of preparation .

Dak is just the long shot Jerry is looking for so I am hoping he continues to improve . He is aware of his weaknesses and willing to put in the time to try and correct them . That's all we can ask of him . He is our QB period .

I'd rather have Dak than Wentz. What surprised me was that Wentz owned up to it to an extend and said he'd work on it.

Who knows what really happened other than one teammate went and back-stabbed via media without the courtesy of even owning up to it while another admitted wrong-doing and said he'd work on it.
Whoever "anonymous" is, he should have brought it up in the team environment to hash it out...not go crying to the media. One way promotes dialogue and makes a team closer, the other foments locker room cancer because of cowardice.
Anonymous might have been right, but he certainly handled it wrong.

Fortunately we don't have to worry about that cause Dak is a team player.

Sort of like the dirty done to Dez….

This team will walk through the fire for Dak

huh?

I believe every team in the NFL (excluding Cowboys) would choose either Wentz or Goff over Dak- in a heartbeat!

There's a reason they went #1 and #2 overall, and Dak was a late 4th rounder.
If its down to those 3 QBs, I would take Dak over Goff and Wentz, right now. Goff can't do crap without McVay reading the defense for him, Wentz lacks availability.

Vicks a nice person. I know him. I know he did wrong but I guess people can't improve themselves or change?
Yep hes a jewel . Some things sorry just dosent fix . Torturing animals for pleasure is one of them

I will say this for Dak.
He is a healthy player. Always healthy. Such a change from the Romo M*A*S*H unit years.
Romo was healthy in his early years as well. Romo was on the bench for a while as well. The league and the lack of o line took a toll on him. We are not talking Brady who is protected by the entire NFL officiating crew. You could sneeze on Brady and that would be roughing the passer. You would have been to run a dump truck over Romo and they would call holding against us. If Brady was playing for us, he would have retired a few years back as well. Now we have better O line so I have some hope for Dak's health. However now the opposing D line just need to breath on him for it to be a sack.

I wouldn't make that bet. Prescott hasn't missed a snap. How long does Philly's luck last having a competent back up to finish every season?
History has also shown us that draft position specifically in terms of QBs doesn't guarantee anything.

I really hope we are not having this debate every year of dak's tenure at the Cowboys. I fear we will.

Can anyone tell me how I can send a question to the mailbag on dallascowboys.com. There is no information on this on their website.

Its hard to believe someone capable of such evil can actually have a good heart. I read the police report and its vile. Its even harder for me to trust the sincerity of his actions after being caught. I dont dismiss anything is possible but no, Id never trust his character after that. It wasnt a single bad moment or choice either, it was brutalizing the innocent over and over and over.

Yeah, he won it all by his little self. All you need to win SBs is a top quarterback, the rest of the team can be total crap.
Where did I ever say Brady won by himself, Dak is no Brady and not close in first 3 years. Learn to read please.

The way a man treats women, children, animals or anyone else hes capable of taking advantage of speaks volumes to his character.

Hahaha. I have to say, it's been amusing watching your tear it up in this thread. I totally understand what you're saying. If you look at the recent NFL Drafts.... 31 QBs have been selected in the first 3 rounds from 2012-2017. (I'm not counting 2018 because those guys have played only 1 year) Only 8 of those are franchise QB material: Wilson, Foles, Carr, Luck, Wentz, Watson, Goff, and Mahomes. :flagwave: So let's say Wilson, Luck, and Mahomes are better. We can argue if Dak is not better than all the rest. He has 1 Pro Bowl selection... the same amount that Goff and Wentz and Carr has.

Bottom line, great QBs are hard to find. We can invest a first round draft pick on a QB, but there's only a 25% chance he's not a bust according to recent NFL Draft stats. You're gonna chance a franchise on 25% chance? The alternative - to get rid of Dak - is much riskier than keeping him. It's a safe bet going into next year knowing you at least have a QB that can give you a chance of winning.

A quarter of those selections are already out of the NFL, another percentage isn't gonna take another snap again, and the rest are 3rd stringers, with a few of those being back-ups with primarily mop-up duties. I'm just simply being realistic here.
