Dak against top 10 defenses

You can't just give a pass to the offense. They had exactly 1 less drive opportunity than the Cards. They were responsible for 3, 3 and outs, and a 3 play drive ending in a fumble by the QB. They put together a good drive on any one of those, and it evens out the drive count, the snap count and the TOP.

Moore called the Dak fumble on the Cowboys first play of the second half? Moore didn't connect on the short pass to Cooper on 2nd and ten? The offense had the opportunity to eat clock and put up points and make it a 5 point game on the opening drive of the second half. It is on them for failing.

Can you confirm that Dak does not have the option to audible pass/run at the line? That seems unlikely. If it is true than it is downright disturbing for a six year vet paid at the top of his profession.

We’re six days out from being the 3rd seed in the NFC playing the 49ers at home and you’re writing a 1000 word anti-Dak essay? Mods should jettison your fraud rear end for impersonating a Cowboys fan.

I'll have you know... my rear end is real... and it's spectacular!

There hasnt been 1 game where we abandoned the run. Not 1.

Dude not counting scrambles we ran the ball two times in the second half against AZ.. They ran it 4 times in the second half against the Raiders.. abandoned.. They also ran it 4 times in the second half against Denver.. but at least that one was justified. They ran it 7 times in the 2nd half against Tampa.. If you're running the ball single digit times in the second half of games to me that's abandoning the run. You may feel different and that's fine.. But I suspect most people will fall on the side of 4-5 runs in a half is abandoning it.

Well there you go, its not abandoning. And we are talking about games where we are way behind double digits or more in the 2nd half. You still clearly havent figured out that when teams are way behind in the 2nd half and are fighting the clock, running the ball usually works against you. And especially when your RB is going nowhere like Zeke typically does.

#2 Carolina - 130.3 passer rating W
#4 New England - 108.7 passer rating W
#7 New Orleans - 79.7 passer rating W
#8 Broncos - 73.9 L
#10 Philly - game 1 143.3 W
game 2 151.8 W

Hmmm.. 5-1 with a cumulative passer rating in the 115 (114.6) range.. 18 TD 3 INT.

What was this I keep hearing about how he "struggles against good defenses?"
Depending on metrics, the Eagles are ranked 18 or 19. They are nowhere near a top 10 defense.

When were all these games when they were down by double digits in the second half?

Against KC they were never down by 10 most of the second half.. meaning again.. one drive could make it a one score game.
Against the Raiders the Cowboys were down 11 points in the second half.. for 13 seconds.. before Pollard's KO return
Against the Saints they never trailed.. and still barely ran the ball.
Against Washington they never trailed.. but were still slinging it around late and gave up a pick six and let them back into the game.
Against they Giants they never trailed but only 10 runs in the second half.. and no I don't count the kneel downs.
Against WFT the second time.. I won't even mention that one
Against the Cards they were down 12 before they ever got the ball and then 15 after two three and out drives where they attempted 5 passes and ran it once. Other than scrambles they ran it only one time the rest of the game.. Even though they cut the lead to one score within 30 seconds of the 4th quarter. But again.. only one more called run the rest of the way.. In a one score game.. Inexcusable.

In most of their games the Cowboys were never more than 2 scores down in the second half .. meaning they were never more than one good drive from being ahead, tied or at worst down one score. You're not fighting the clock in those situations. You can still run the ball down one score.. and you SHOULD.. This offense is built around play action.. No running == no play action.. It's as simple as that. Your inability to grasp that simple fact is mind boggling..

Makes sense.. if they win.. it was not a big game and it wasn't a good team. Right?
Kansas City, ArizonA, Tampa bay. The only 3 teams playoff worthy we played and yea offense was flat in 2 of 3 and Bucs left a lot of points on board

Unless the offense lays an egg and scores like 17 points, this game is truly about our defense being able to control the run and the intermediate and short passing of SF….their short game reaps great YAC.

24-27 points against a good defense in the playoffs would be good, more would be great. Our defense cannot give up 27-30 points and expect the offense to bail them out vs a tough, physical defense.
