Dak and Beasley don't have the same chemistry as last season

What i have seen is Dallas has played 3 games with really good CBs that have shut down Dez in single coverage. Allowing their defenses to focus on other parts of the offense. Dez really needs to step it up. Butler came up huge vs AZ. He was hurt vs Den and really played no part. Butler IMO is the deep threat this team needs

Funny that people here been saying for years that we need a legit deep threat. This issue has been lingering for as long as I can remember. I don't know why it hasn't been fixed.

This has been proven already to be false.
Teams have been rolling safety help to Dez all season. People have already watched the all 22 and broke this myth down. Sorry.

Beasley is getting single coverage or a zone combo..the issue is what’s right in front of your face...pressure. Teams are sending waves of pressure to make Dak uncomfortable and crash the run. Just look how many of Zekes runs have been for 0-1 yard. Our all pro line hasn’t forgot how to block..it’s about scheme. The defenses are doing what worked for the giants and Vikings last year and so far we haven’t had an answer. Until teams think their chances are better playing deep vs crashing the LOS this will continue.

This is something to keep and eye on as the season goes on but for now I thinks its too early in the season to conclusively say the Dak to Beasley chemistry is gone. It's just a different season.

Glad to see you took advantage of the name change offer @Reality made my friend!

As for Dak and Beasley, I started this thread to basically ask people who have had time to re-watch the games what they have noticed. I haven't had much time this season but to barely just watch the games. The plant I work at was hit pretty hard by Harvey and the recovery effort has been one set back after another so I have had to put in some long hours. Today I have to fly to the East coast to visit some customers who are worried about when we will have product again. I am ready for things to get back to normal.

It's not the same offense overall. To me it looks like they tried to change up the offense overall and make Dak a pure pocket passer. Through 2 1/2 quarters it didn't go very well so they went back to more of the stuff they did last year and the offense started working again. Nothing against Dak but he isn't Troy Aikman. He needs the rollouts and RPOs to make defenses stay honest and not sell out against the run. Hopefully they figured this out.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck at the plant.

Good. Rather he be Dak.

Beasley made some clutch plays against the Giants, had a nice first down against the Cardinals, and was against dominant corner who takes away slot corners in Denver(plus we just got hammered in all facets that game).

Nothing to be concerned about yet.

The other issue is that the o-line simply has not been as good as last year.
Correct. Sign Leary............

Collins and Witten have been horrid in the run game. The cards brought a LB down on that side and all they had to do is crash and the play never develops.

Get Ezee in the short passing game.....that'll keep 'em honest.

LOL incredible.

It's like some fans think the strength/weakness of the opposing defense has NOTHING to do with how well the Cowboys offense is able to execute.

"Why didn't our WRs put up huge numbers at Denver???? OMG CHEMISTRY ISSUES!!!!"

I am really surprised Beasely has not been targeted more so far this season since he and Dak seemed to have so much chemistry last season. I have not had time to sit down and rewatch the games closely like I used to do back in the day due to work and life so I have not seen if Beasely is just being covered really well. Curious if others have taken the time to look at the film and can comment on the subject.

I don't know if we have seen them enough yet this year.

12 quarters of football and we were mummified for at least 6 of those quarters.

If by mid season this is still the case and no one else is getting catches/plays.... then it's a concern.

Maybe teams are scheming to take away last year's leading receiver?
:hammer:This. Beaz has amazing YAC and opposing DC's are trying to take him out of the plan. He'll get his when/if they start doubling Dez, Wit, Will..etc. And our run game comes around. Hope this happens this Sunday.

Dak has been very uncomfortable in the pocket this season for some reason.

Connecting with Beazley relies on timing and throwing from the pocket. Dak has been better in space so far. When he does that, he tends to throw down field, like we saw last night.

Beazley's wheelhouse is 5-10 yards past the LOS.

He is uncomfortable because Collins is a trash at RT and Green isn't a natural guard. Add in some bad phases by the other 3, Dak has been taking hits. I saw it preseason he was getting twisted and pancake. Some of that stuff they don't show on TV after ever play how the qb takes hits.

People keep using Green and Collins as scapegoats but Tyron and Fredericks haven't been as good either.

Sorry to hear things at work have gotten so hectic. I can most certainly relate. I volunteer my time with the local civil defense and that took me away from home a few days during Harvey. Much of that work is unpleasant but it has to be done and I've never been the kind to walk away from a challenge. It felt good to know I helped once I was done.

I have noticed Beasley is not making the impact in games that he did last season but without having had time to review the games as I usually like to do, I don't think that was out of design. As I recall, Dak has thrown the ball Beasley's way and they just didn't connect. I think that was mostly a result of Dak being under pressure and dumping in Beas's direction but the ball being uncatchable. That's not Beasley's fault and it's good on Dak to do that rather than throw an INT. I'm sure we'll see those two connect much more in future games.

Butler is the deep threat this team deserves.
