Dak is doing a super job, but this is so misleading.

Most of the "all-time greats" were drafted by the worst teams in football. They inherited teams that needed their entire rosters purged of garbage players. That takes time.

Look at Aikman. How many players were left from his rookie team when they won the Super Bowl in 1992? Jeffcoat, Irvin, Newton, Tuinei.........is that it?

Dak inherited the greatest offense that any rookie QB has ever played with in the history of football.

That is true but we were coming off a 4-12 season, and he was taken in the fourth round. Rodgers took over a team that made the NFC Championship game the year before.

A 4-12 team that started Joseph Randle, didn't have Dez Bryant for much of the season, and posted the worst defensive numbers in NFL history.

With Dak it is his decision making....he just seems to always find someone open and when he doesn't after the first read or two he can extend a play until he does find someone and then if he still has nothing he can run. Has to be maddening for opponents. For example, 3rd and like 15 with just over a minute in the first half and deep in our own territory. He finds Dez for the first and then a play later extends it to find TW wide open. Then a few later, he pulls it and runs through a tackle to carry it in for a score. If you're a fan of our opponent, Dak has to drive you insane. Reminds me of how I hated playing mcnubb in philly for years.
If we would cut down our offensive penalties, we'd average 40 ppg.

The 2015 defense was 16th in points allowed, 17th in yards allowed, and 17th in points allowed per drive.

You may be thinking of 2013.

Waiting for risen to chirp in with his Wentz comments....:lmao:
He HATES EVERY SECOND DAK'S UNDER CENTER.
Remember that.
Risen is a putz.

Edit: I wonder if he enjoys Dak in the shotgun...

Roger inherited a pretty good team also. I guess his "level of play" was misleading also????

You could say the same for Romo. Guess he was just lucky to start off with such a great team????

the same could be said about many teams that end up at the bottom of the heap, when Elway went to Broncos, they were 2-7 the year before, but were 10-6 in 1981

They didn't start as rookies. That was the point.

And Roger was 27 years old.

Unless I am completely out to lunch and that could be true as I have been working nights the last few weeks, your point was Dak inherited a very good team unlike other rookie QBs. Whether Staubach or Romo were rookies is not important; they inherited very good teams and still proved to be great/very good QBs in the long run. This continuous questioning of Dak's abilities and always explaining away his proven ability to lead the team to wins is bizarre at this point. I could understand the questions last year but with the obstacles and tougher schedule this year, the guy should be given the "benefit of the doubt" at this point.

Some here continually complained about the unfair treatment Romo got but are now treating Dak the same way? They were right about Romo and that makes it even more bizarre.

Great point
Dak has been a great player in his very short career, but you can’t compare short term stats of great careers
Dak I don’t suspect will end his career with the most passing yards, most completions, he’s not that kind of player. May end with least ints because he really protects the ball better than most all those guys
The record I would like to see him end his career with is rings, not stats

It should have been noted in the article that Prescott's rating is 15 points higher than the current league average, while Marino's rating was 32 points higher than the league average in 1984.

Don't be bringing statistically appropriate context here. That ain't welcome in these parts
