Sorry my intention wasn’t more clear. By one call, one read, I intended to be saying Cooper is encouraged to make quick decisions and throw to the receiver he chooses from the presnap read and get rid of it, even throwing it away many times, or check down to a RB or TE. I don’t think they are calling elaborate plays and expecting him to roll through the progressions. They don’t want negative plays, penalties, or turnovers, and I think while they may want more deep outs, flags, and RPOs from Dak, I hope they ramp him up slowly and continue leaning on the defense. Yes, Dak can do more than Rush if needed, but let’s take it slowly and not have him making multi-level reads and trying to hold the ball until he finds an open receiver right away. No need to say, oh, our starter is back, our offense can start putting up 30 points.Thank you for elaborating. Very appreciated!
I was just trying to say from a layman's view....you said something like "one call one read" as if Cooper has to take the one play and nothing else.
On a side note...I'd like to posture that Dak seems to do a "checkdown" way more than Cooper. Seems a natural tendency. If true...are we risking more check downs instead of the real 1 or even 2 read?
I really think everything still is in the hands of Kellen and Mike. If they thought Dak was changing from run plays to pass plays inappropriately or too often, it’s their job to rein him in.
