Dak contract = Deshaun Watson contract

We are in the same boat as Cleveland given that we have a QB Contract that will negatively affect the Team for years to come.
Dak isn't as useless as Watson but he is a mediocre QB who will never get you over the top.
The Cleveland fanbase turned on Watson and it looks like the Cowboys fanbase will do the same with Dak.
Dak isn't horrible but him being paid the top QB salary in the NFL is insulting.

Dak is horrible against good teams. He is washed. It's going to get real bad before the end of his contract. The Cowboys out browned the browns. This contract is worse than Watsons.

The main difference is Cleveland also traded a bunch of assets to acquire Watson.

Dallas didn't have to give anything up. But unless something changes, its looking like both contracts were huge mistakes by the teams. U can't miss on those contracts as they handicap your salary cap for years to come. And no matter how poorly he plays, Dak will not be benched. The same way Watson never would've been benched without getting injured

The Cleveland fan base never wanted Watson. They were never on his side.

Dak is losing support b/c he isn't good enough to carry the offense on his back but insisted on being paid like he could leaving the team stuck.

Ironically in the first few years of being on the team Broaddus mentioned that Jerry had doubts as to whether Dak was a franchise QB. Something along the lines of 'have we found our QB here'. This would be pre 2020. Then when everyone else has concerns as to whether he should be re-signed Jerry goes the other way.

Not sure why fan feelings matter about either quarterback's contract being equivalent. Suspension and tearing an Achilles sidelined Deshaun Watson--not the fans wanting him benched for poor play.

Dak Prescott is an NFL poster boy. He is doing everything he can to prevent sustaining another ankle injury. Jerry Jones is not benching him. He is playing poorly but fans wanting him sidelined for poor play is irrelevant.

Unless there is a fan hiding a mind ray machine. That changes everything. Set the ray to 'Smart', aim it at Jones' head, and cross fingers hoping the entire contraption does not self-destruct before it does its job.
