I don't understand how people use the fact that Wentz played against Cleveland to negate the fact that he looked better than Dak. If Dak looked better than Wentz people wouldn't say "But Dak had the best OL in the game along with Dez and Zeke while Wentz had a bunch of scrubs."

It's easier to look awesome against a bad defense and a bad team in general. It's also easier to launch the ball down the field when your receivers aren't being smothered and when you have a run game that's working. If Dak puts up 42 points in a victory against the Dolphins and Wentz only puts up 14 against the Seahawks in a loss, would that be fair to compare them?

We'll see. Luckily they play 10 common opponents this year so we'll be able to truly see. And in that case, Dak should do better against common teams considering he has a far better offense surrounding him than Wentz does. Would you agree?

I thought the same thing...Commanders are hot garbage...how did they win this division?

Two coaches got fired and Romos injury prevented Garrett from getting the bullet. Worst standard for the East in a very long time.

I think it's extremely unlikely that Dak remains the starter long enough for most of those common opponent games to take place.

It is bizarre how some fans can't just admit it. For one week, Wentz looked better. Doesn't mean Wentz is better. Doesn't mean Dak won't look awesome against the Skins and Wentz will get beaten up by the Bears.

But for opening week, Wentz looked better. And for all the "well he played the Browns" angles being played, let's also note that Prescott had far more work and play in the preseason than Wentz. Wentz did all of that with about a quarter of the prep time Dak had.

It's going to be fun and interesting to watch them develop. My gut tells me both will end up being good QBs. Before the preseason started, I thought it was a real long shot that Prescott could end up being that type of QB, but he's slowly started to change my mind on that.

I think Wentz is a lot more likely to get beaten up starting all season while Dak goes back to the sidelines and learns from there. I have a feeling that will help Dak's long term development.

And Wentz has a much better defense surrounding him, so how exactly are we going to judge this? Ws and Ls or individual stats?

And why do we even need to compare them? Wentz isn't here and he's not coming here. We would have had to give up a treasure trove to get Wentz, and those picks can instead be used to build a strong defense.

No question that for that on Sep. 11th 2016, Wentz won the day.

If you want to say Wentz has the tools to be a successful NFL QB and looked solid in his first start, sure, I can agree to that. However, saying Wentz looked better than Dak isn't a fair comparison. Playing against a divisional rival in which the vast majority of our games have been close vs. playing against one of the worst teams in the NFL does not lend credence to a fair NFL comparison. I'd be saying the same thing if Dak lit up some bottom feeder team and Wentz was nearly shut out against the Broncos.

Can't run it and can't stop the run......not a good combo.

We lose this week...I expect Red's head.

We'll take what Washington gives us...

It's definetely looks like a get right game.

It's completely fair.

He looked better. For one day. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. He looked better for one day.

If you want to place caveats on it, have at it. I don't agree. Because if you want to play this silly game of he played this and he played that, then let's point out that Prescott has a far better OL than the Eagles, has better RBs than the Eagles and has better WRs than the Eagles. So while Wentz is playing the Browns, he's also playing with lesser talent around him on offense. Further, Wentz only managed 35 snaps total in preseason and missed nearly three quarters of preseason practice. And when he was healthy, he didn't get nearly the work Prescott did because Wentz was running the 3rd team offense. So Prescott had much more time to get ready for his start than Wentz did.

It's strange that some of you are so incapable of just admitting something that just about every football analyst and fan outside of Dallas has said........... for one game, Wentz looked better. Admitting that doesn't mean you think Wentz is the better QB. You are acting like it does.

The Browns have a bad defense but the Browns were sending pressure, mixing it up and Wentz managed it ok. I don't even like Wentz, never have. But I'm not going to be a hater either.
The browns defense couldn't stop the Eagles' RBs from gashing them 5-6 yards at each attempt and they we're run-blitzing often against an inferior O-line. Going off what I saw last night against the Giants' D-line, there is no comparison. The Giants bought a Jets type D-line overnight. Their LB corps is crap, but behind that front 4, it more than carries enough weight to make that an above average front-7. Wentz may, in fact, be better than Dak, but it's going to take more than 1 regular season game to get even an inkling. Dak looked good and Wentz looked very good. That's about it. Check back in week 5-6.

But our problem is we can't rush the passer or stop the run.

Like all of our games it will come down to the end. What's bad is I'm sure all of us would feel better being down and have the ball at the end rather than up and needing a stop for the win.

And we have a 4th round rookie quarterback who is 0-1. That's how bad our defense is.

The eagles were also able to get a running game going, which further eased the pressure he had of throwing.

What is there to admit? Wentz looked better against the Cleveland Browns, one of the worst teams in the NFL and historically so, than Dak Prescott looked against a tough divisional rival in the New York Giants. Dak was looking like Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers against the Rams and Dolphins in preseason and he also won the MVP in the Senior Bowl, but what does that mean?

Wentz is also playing a significantly less talented team, defensively, than the Giants, who spent $100 million, and Wentz also has a much better defense, so he's much more free to take risks on offense because a mistake won't get him left in the dust. The eagles were also able to establish a run game, which also eases the burden of a rookie QB significantly. It's a lot harder to launch the ball down the field when your run game is completely shut down and your best receiver is double covered.

It's tough to look great defenses as Kirk Cousins saw tonight.

Cousins is just a backup QB. The fact he beat out RG3 doesn't impress me at all.
