He is capable of most throws. He is also prone to inconsistent throws which are drive killers & turnovers. Clean up consistency & its a whole different conversation. Until then, you can cherry pick all you want but you aren't going to convince knowledgeable fans to ignore what they have seen for 4 years (plus college for many).

It is more cherry picking to say that he's inconsistent, when he was one of the most accurate passers in the league this year.

God forbid he has developed in those 4 years.

I like Dak. I think he has a few things that he has to work on, just like most, if not everyone in the nfl. Luckily, this season showed he’s on his way. He’s been getting better every year.

He just needs to not get lazy with his mechanics, even when pressured. When his mechanics are sound, he makes all the throws. Towards the end of the season, he started throwing off the back foot a little and it showed where a lot of his throws were behind the reciever. Another great offseason program will help him immenseley.

Not a ringing endorsement. 32 QBs in the NFL make the same throws, more than half could do as well if not better, and probably 6 to 10 in the draft who would learn quickly in OTAs.
There aren't 10 quarterbacks who make any of those throws against the Dolphins, let alone with any consistency.

This is a really inaccurate take on Dak.

Prove it. Show film on all the QBs who can't make those throws. Or we can agree you wouldn't be an NFL QB if you couldn't make the throws.

Your choice.

How do you show quarterbacks not doing something? Name 16 who can make those throws on the run, all in the same game. Go right ahead.

You won't, because you know it's nonsense.

Thought I would show this little video of Dak and how he can throw every pass you need. This guy is a franchise QB regardless of his haters.

A lot of QBs can make every throw we need.

We need a QB to elevate the team with his play and he couldn’t do it under the most optimal circumstances.

If we’re going to achieve post season success it will be with guys that elevate the team and he isn’t that type of player.

Almost no post season success.

For every highlight throw enclosed we can see off target , crazy mechanic throws of another spectrum , like throwing behind RB(zeke) on the flat or goal line etc.

True the Qb prices are going up , but it is a question that Dak is able to cleanup his act, improve mechanics and consistently bring us back when down ,is to be seen. If not he is not qualified to be a longtime franchise QB i.m.o.

That's your problem. If you were as smart as you think you would already know there are only 2 QBS in any one game so nobody can name 16 who can throw on the run all in the same game.

Now name 1 who can't throw on the run.

You won't because you can't. Every QB has to throw on the run at some point. Whether he is successful or not is a different topic.

I think that's his biggest weakness, I think McCarthy being hired will help Dak in a ton of ways. We just need to get him signed so he will be in all of the offseason program.

I agree with the general premise that Dak has to keep improving his mechanics.

But you can play this game with every single quarterback in the league, including the Peytons, Bradys, and Brees of the world - who all have always struggled maintaining mechanics when faced with interior passrush. This QB who has perfect mechanics on every throw doesn't exist.

The list of players who makes those throws on the move with any consistency is: Wilson, Watson, Mahomes, Rodgers, Prescott, Wentz. Some of the younger guys - Darnold, Murray, Allen, Mayfield could get there. That's it, that's the list. If you think Matt Stafford, Matt Ryan and Drew Brees are out extending plays like that and making those throws down the field, you're dead wrong. They can make those throse standing in a clean pocket, but not on the move.

The whole point is whether or not they're successful. Dak is. 20-something other quarterbacks aren't.

The best quarterbacks in the league are unequivocally Mahomes and Wilson. It's because they're the two best at making those plays. Any take where Jameis Winston is doing that is wildly off the mark.

Dak can make all the throws. He can drop back and hit his primary option with accuracy. He's excellent with his eyes and can get safeties and linebackers to move.

Where Dak struggles is when he has to come off his primary read. His fundamentals break down and his throws are inaccurate. And the good teams took away his primary read, which is why the offense struggled. Dak couldn't make them pay with his second or third option on any type of consistent basis. With those flaws, Dak shouldn't be considered a franchise QB. He's a placeholder and should be paid as such.
