Romo lead the league in QBR in 2014 and got 1 vote in the MVP race while Rodgers got the rest of the votes. Hard to win the MVP race in a run first offense and Dak doesn’t throw a lot of TDs either compared to Romo. So even if Dak proves to be all we want him to be this year it’s unlikely he can put up MVP numbers on this offense.Patrick Mahomes is favored to repeat the NFL's MVP, per the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas.
Mahomes leads the pack with 4-1 odds.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is followed 13 quarterbacks:
Aaron Rodgers - 8/1
Andrew Luck - 8/1
Carson Wentz - 10/1
Drew Brees - 10/1
Tom Brady - 12/1
Philip Rivers - 14/1
Russell Wilson - 14/1
Ben Roethlisberger - 25/1
Matt Ryan - 25/1
Baker Mayfield - 25/1
Jared Goff - 60/1
Cam Newton - 60/1
Matthew Stafford - 80/1
I'm not saying that Dak should be Top 10 on this list, but look at some of these names...Matt "I failed with a 25 point lead" Ryan, Cam "Thrown it up for grabs" Newton, and Matt "I never won anything and I'm overrated" Stafford? Ya think Dak could get at least 50-1 odds here? Oh yeah, more Media love for that guy in Philly too.
They do if you consider who has the highest percentage of plays going through the QB as a key factor. Maybe they are so-so QBs and hence long odds to win, but they are in situations that offer them the opportunity to win if they had an incredible year.I would not put dak as a league mvp either but I do agree that newton and Stafford have no business on this list.

hater ( just kidding)Cooper had 40 yds in that Rams game.
I noticed you didn't mention his yards or attempt numbers.LOL so average QBs put up 83 TD vs 27 INT and a 32-16 record over 3 years?
My point exactly.Romo only got one vote because Murray who also got one vote had over 1800 yards rushing which led the league. Many saw Murray as being more valuable that season than Romo. Murray’s performance took a lot of pressure off Romo and he didn’t have to do as much that season. Romo passed for just over 3700 yards that season which was the lowest passing yard total of his career in which he played at least 15 games. The Cowboys leaned on the run in 2014. We have the same type of offense with Zeke. We lean on him which takes a lot of pressure off Dak. Dak doesn’t have to pass for over 4000 yards a season and 30+ touchdowns having a dynamic runner in the backfield. To win the MVP as a QB you have to pretty much carry your team. A QB has to put up big passing numbers. Having Zeke, Dak doesn’t have to put up big passing numbers.
His yards PER attempt numbers are very good, and they were elite after the Cooper trade last year. His QBR since 2016 is better than Carson Wentz’s as well, and we saw what Wentz just got paid.I noticed you didn't mention his yards or attempt numbers.
He's a caretaker. The type of guy you usually don't sign to what at the time will be a top 5 contract.
No that's not an acknowledgement he's a top 5 player by management. But the players that sign top 5 contracts at any time in their careers usually don't have the biggest thing in their favor being their team's won loss record.
Dak is nowhere close to being an NFL MVP, common man.
Meh... all of the QB's mentioned are better than Dak. Wanna bet that Mayfield wins a super bowl or at least reaches one and Dak never gets close?
Pretty sure, Dak, isn't on the defense, but perhaps I am wrong and need to fact check that. One thing I am sure of, it's the defense that allows the other team to score points so........"He shouldn't have put us in position to need a clutch touchdown!"
hard to win MVP at QB in a run heavy offense and the way our Passing offense looks something like a HS playbook up to this point.. we arent lighting up the passing numbers so they are right..although im thinking maybe Cam doesnt belong and Brees slipped big time last year and his arm looked weak in the playoffs so they are both off my list..Most of that list use 3-4 wr patterns and throw a lot more..MVP is more about stats in the RS and well Dak isnt exactly lighting it up in Passing stats..Romo had shot twice but those were his best years that happen to be Payton and Bradys record setting years, so again this offense can be offensive )Patrick Mahomes is favored to repeat the NFL's MVP, per the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas.

true but its not like dak is doing the great year cam had where he had tons of Running TDs to go with Passing TDs and simply taking over games by himself, been the opposite of that IMO and really no big deal about MVP , why worry about it..TEAM wins lets build team and go smash opponents with no MVPs its fan thing really.p=well mvp is more than just throwing passes?? or it should be lol
But this is where Vegas since they think so low of Dak, should give odds on him too. like 5000 to 1
Then I could bet 10 and win 50,000~!
I wouldn’t go as far as to say he’s nowhere close because he’s been very clutch in the fourth quarter with games on the line. Zeke accounts for too much of our offense for Dak to be in MVP consideration right now. Dak has to show he can play well without Zeke if we were to lose him for a period of time. He didn’t play well without Zeke in 2017 and everyone keeps looking back at that.
