At the time, as our second pick in the 4th round, he was happy. No question he out performed his contract, but no one took advantage of him. He could have signed a new deal at the start of last season, but chose not to do so. He hoped for a great year and even more money. But 8-8 is troubling. Don't know what he's asking. Don't know what is being offered. No way the fo should feel guilty about the way things have worked out to date. That’s what Dak Prescott has made so far in the NFL. Even if he signs a 4yr/$36m per year contract - the Cowboys still got an insane bargain over an 8 year span!
That’s just my personal opinion.
It is!But 8-8 is troubling.
That it is. Ergo, salaries need to take into account the whole team, not just one individual. It is!
If Dak could have only helped fix the inconsistent defense...and fix the leagues worst special teams...and fixed the kicking situation earlier...and lastly fix the HC/coaching staff.
It's still a team sport.
They owe him!! Pay the man!!
I disagree with back pay too. What I don’t disagree with is him wanting to get top dollar instead of looking to sign a team friendly deal. The thinking that he's owed back pay is something I disagree with.
He will likely be offered top pay between now and July 15th.
Quite possibly receiving the title of "Highest Paid" in the league.
With a little help from his agent, he has put himself in position
for that to happen. It has nothing to do with his rookie contract.
I agree with what you are saying. I just want to point out he has received performance escalators and has made $4,028,392 over his first 4 years. That’s what Dak Prescott has made so far in the NFL. Even if he signs a 4yr/$36m per year contract - the Cowboys still got an insane bargain over an 8 year span!
That’s just my personal opinion.

Not one person in hear or any journalist knows exactly what the holdup is over. Buy over the last two months all reports has been that the contract holdup is not over money but length of contract, but yet post after post after post still insinuates Dak is holding out for a few million more. Reports are that Dak wants 4-years while the Cowboys want five. If the reports are correct, wouldn’t Dak be taken less for the totality of the contract? So how is that greed?
4 years is 4 years, whether for Dak or Wentz. If you believe the reports Dak isn’t taking less. He wants the same guarantees (or more) that Wentz and Goff got but over a shorter period.
