yeah everybody was hurt .. one guy on offense and one on defense.. lmao. it didn't have anything to to with the defense taking Dak's bread and butter short passes away. Yep the wr's, te and coaching staff forgot everything from the previous year. It had nothing to do with the defense figuring out that Dak can't beat you with the intermediate or long throws, or accuracy.

That is one theory. But, its the same coaching staff that coached him in 2016 when he had a pro bowl season. Another theory is that defenses adapted to his game and challenged him to make more difficult throws. Coaching can't overcome a lack of arm talent. He's slow to recognize defenses and unable to throw wrs open or anticipate when a wr will come open . Norv Turner said that he once had to explain to Troy AIkman was "open" looked liked in the NFL. .................and Aikman was working with a cannon for an arm and laser accuracy. Dak has neither.

Defenses adapted to our passing game, not just Dak.

Dak has a pretty big arm. 50 yard pass flat footed.

He's young, and he was a project to begin with. He has his limitations. So do our wideouts. So do our coaches.

I put the blame on coaches, then wideouts, then Dak. I don't see the coaches doing anything sensible to combat how teams are playing us, and I see them doing stupid things besides, like giving Dak a million and one pre snap reads to start the season. I don't see the wideouts being able to beat press man without help over the top. That's just sad. And Dak's footwork, pocket presence, and accuracy, have gone to ****.

Without thinking too hard, I'll take Dak's contract over any other player on the team, and certainly over any of the coaches.

He had the same arm talent in 2016 and had an ALL time great rookie season. You want to blame Dak for regressing this season, not this coaching staff for setting him up for failure on way to many occasions. Did you watch all their games this year?Prior to the Atlanta game Dak’s stats were AS GOOD as his amazing 2016 season. Your right though, teams were playing us differently( doubling Beasley etc.). With teams playing us differently and the coaching staff not adapting to it, Dak was still making plays, but he was running for his life and making plays outside the design of our lame offensive system. Also the O line, with injuries, was okay at pass blocking at times, and terrible at others. The coaching staff refused to consistently help our lousy back up tackles. I firmly believe this lame coaching staff and the offensive line struggles were the main reasons Dak struggled more this year than last year! Garrett is the main problem with this team by far( other than Jerry who is to power hunger to fire his puppet Garrett ), not Dak. Dak is a major positive for this team and if we had a competent offensive coaching staff you would see it consistently.

I endorse this message.

Defenses adapted - attacking the relative weak separation powers of Williams and Dez, and Dak's relatively weak timing and throwing guys open
Our coaches did not adapt - Having said that, Dak, Williams, and Dez are all not bums. It's a colossal coaching failure not to be able to beat press coverage without help with even just average QBs and WRs.
They let Dak take 8 sacks from his blindside - Nate predicted that would have a lasting effect on a young QB

It doesn't take a lot of arm talent to make those short throws and not turn the ball over. But what happens when the defense takes those away? Well, guys like Brees, Brady, and Rodgers lick their chops and start hitting guys downfield. Dak was not able to make defenses pay for their aggression, and they, in turn, did not respect him as a passer. There is nothing a coach can do about it. At a certain point, the QB has to read a defense at the LOS and actually make the throws. Nobody can do it for him.

The one game where you point at the coaches is the Atlanta game where Chaz Green blew up the offense, and the coaches refused to alter the game plan to help on that side.

My point is not to defend the coaching staff. Garret would go 8-8 with Brady. My point is that Dak is limited in what he can do as a QB. The league has the book on him now and he is going to have to step up and significantly improve as a passer.

Scheme and play calling matters. Dak can't do that for the coaches either. The defenses adapted to us. Our coaches didn't adapt back.

I didn't see the coaches do anything to attack the isolated CBs playing press. If that were a viable strategy against mediocre QBs, you'd see it in a third of the defenses every week. You don't. You don't because an adequate coaching staff will abuse you if you try it. Our staff is not up to the task.

hows the coaches suppose to adapt to his slow reads an inaccuracy? and his problem with pressure where he loses his field of vision from panicking?

Hope you are right b/c that is a correctable problem.

But it should be clear to anyone who is objective that Dak regressed this year.

And two things concern me beyond his supporting cast:

1. He was inaccurate on MANY throws. That has NOTHING to do with talent. He simply flat out missed opened receivers.
2. He was not able to elevate the team merely by his play alone.

I'm not so sold on Dak that I would pass up a QB in the first round. Last season his performance was very disturbing.

So when do we give up on this failed backup QB that caused us to get rid one of the best passers the NFL has ever seen?
