An honest question. Forget 40 mil or even 30 millions. But what team out there, would want dak at 25 a year? What has he done or shown to warrant 1. He is a elite level qb (without elite weapons ) 2. He is worth that kinda money?

I don’t know if any team in the league that would take him even at 20. If you offered him to the giants. Would they really levy the mortgage for what they have seen from him and give up on jones? How about Cleveland, is dak so much better than mayfield that you would pay him 3x the money?

Mind you, he went .500 (8-8) with pretty much a full starting cast, needed an in season trade least year to give up a first for a weapon, and beat 1 team with a winning record. (Apart from eagles who were at or under 500 at the first meeting)

wentz went 9-7 with guys making league minimums for the most part (DeSean missed 15 games, Jeffrey missed 8, howard missed 6) and missed a high paid LT for the past months. Also algolor was out, for nearly the the last half of season. The last quarter of season featured a WR who was cut 6 times from the practice squad in the nfl, a rookie wideout with no nfl experience, and an rb cut from saints practice squad.

can anyone tell me why one qb deserves the same money as the other? I’ll hang up and listen

Any team who needs a QB would pay him 25 to 30 IMO. Chances are that a team without a QB is probably sorry so they are picking early. They probably aren't in it for a Super Bowl run so in, at the very least, a short term contract, they would likely pay 25 to 30 for a QB. Long term or above that, that's probably another story.

Exactly. Thats the predicament you run into here.

You overpay? HA!

You underpay? Somebody with tons of cap will pay.

Remember. Dak has won 39 games since entering the league. That's more than Goff and Wentz. Somebody will pay him

If he hits the open market, he's going to get paid.

There's a handful of teams that either had their once promising rookie show no signs of improvement, their ole vet show signs of decline, or they want a fresh face at QB.

The market is set where it is for a reason. Dak IMO will get 30+ mil from a handful of teams if he ever hit the "free" market

Dak needs to continue to work on his craft and improve. The guy has all the intangibles that are typically missing from the failures with uber-talent. Dak will easily get himself $30M/year on a 5 year deal. The rub will be how much of the contract is guaranteed. Good coaching (Kitna) and play-calling (New OC) will help him immensely.

I would take him for 5 years/$150M/$90M guaranteed in a heartbeat. That's a good deal for all, imo.

All you money deniers need to get that "what he's worth" nonsense out of your heads. When he gets paid he will get it generously.

It's set for a reason.. Because NFL teams are stupid.

NFL teams give out stupid contracts and all the other teams follow along in their stupidity.

Very simple. He's the perfect candidate for the transition tag. Then we'll all see what he's worth in the open market. Dallas can either match or not.

if you have to ask at this point your mind is made up. There’s nothing you’re missing you just interpret things differently than others.

But the question is really, would Dak make a move to play for that? I mean, I believe that Dak was offered a good deal by Dallas, he just wasn't offered the top contract and honestly, that's fair in my mind. Dak and his agent want a top deal but only that, they want a short deal and there is no way the Cowboys should do that. I don't care who says what, the Cowboys should not be offering a 40 mil deal for 4 or 5 years. That would be completely stupid. Dak didn't earn that IMO but more then that, you don't want to buy this problem and in a few years because we've already seen that a 4 or 5 year deal is really a 2 or 3 year deal in today's NFL. So the question becomes, do you leave Dallas for a rebuilding team who is going to offer a short term deal for what is probably the same kind of money he makes in Dallas? I don't think he will do that but he might, IDK. If he does decide to do that, then Franchise him and let them pay for him with two first round picks and we can call it good.

That's just my opinion.

Sure, but not 40 mil per. That's not happening IMO. No team, regardless of how much cap they have, will pay him that IMO. 25-30, yeah, I see that all day.

People need to accept that what Dak can get paid has no connection at all to what you think he should be paid.

Kirk Cousins got 3 years $84m fully guaranteed with an 0-1 playoff record, 1 Pro Bowl and never more than 9 wins in a season. No matter how stupid it is, that's reality, and Dak is never taking a lowball contract in a world where that happened.

Also I don't think Dak ever seriously expected to get a $40m per contract, it's just a twitter rumor that people keep treating as fact.

25-30, seriously? You can be a Dak hater all you want but Kirk Cousins makes 28M a year. Nick Foles 22M. Dak is far younger and has vastly better potential than both of those guys. When a QB with any type of talent his the open market, they're going to get a very nice payday.

Well 19 QBs make over 20 million a year, 12 make 25 million+, 6 make 30 million+. So a lot of people would pay Dak. Even Tannenhill can potentially get 20 million this year, lol. Unless you're on a rookie contract, or a fringe starter you're getting a lot of money.
