Hello...i just want to point out areas that i don't think are getting enough attention. I see the typical tired posts like <200 yards or "he missed this pass" or "he's holding the ball too long" and just want to put some of this in perspective.

What we know:

  • The FRONT OFFICE failed this qb in getting him quality weapons in the passing game. When Cole Beasley is your best weapon, you have problems. Cole Beasley should be no higher than a 3rd option for any decent team. He is our only option. At that, he is an EXTREMELY limited option. He does not run down field and his route tree is either in cutting or out cutting. Hurns has been a fail. Slow, poor routes, poor attitude. He will be cut soon IMO when Butler is healthy and Noah Brown gets healthy. Deonte is not fast and brings nothing to the table. Williams, probably our 2nd best WR going into this season is now on IR and was hobbled before that. Gallup is our only hope in the passing game. Swaim has shown signs of life....
  • The Schedule has not done this qb any favors. He has faced 4 top 10 pass defenses in the first 6 games while two of them were #1 at the time he faced them with the popgun weapons. He will face his 5th top 10 pass defense this week against Washington. He also faced the Seahawks (#3) in Seattle when they were desperate! They just held Oakland on the Road to 3 points and the GREAT (according to the haters) Derrick Carr to 147 yards. BTW, the other two defenses Dak has faced were not exactly chopped meat either. Houston (#14) and Carolina (#16) were both on the road. They also had a front 7 that limited our run game and harassed Dak the whole time.
  • If you were comparing Dak Prescott and Tony Romo as so many like to do, next week would be the first game of Romo's career. Prescott has already won a division, a rookie of the year, made a pro bowl, thrown for 52 TDs, run for 13 more and has a career QB rating of 94! This isn't even including the 10 gaming winning drives and 6 4th quarter comebacks or the 19 games that he has had a qb rating over 100 (including 103 in the playoff game vs Green Bay).
I would ask the haters to relax. Enjoy the ride. This kid is developing before our eyes. When we add a few weapons in the pass game, he is going to explode. This i have no doubt about. In the meantime, he is still winning games and will continue to get better. Our defense is really good, our run game is really good. We will get there with one of the youngest teams in the league. This win yesterday will propel us to big things IMO.

Now "come at me bro" with the same tired, thoughtless Dak Sucks mantras...lol

How dare you come around here making sense. Lol.

Have you learned how to grasp the 8 man in a box stat yet and why it is so useless?

Are you still stuck thinking they are counting every snap?

"Buh, buh, help me understand this CalPoly?!?! I can't make sense of this stat???"

Regarding your last point:

So when we talk about Tony’s stats it doesn’t mean anything because he never won anything.

Yet you use stats in favor of Dak?

I'm not excited about Dak. But what I am excited about, is I believe the Cowboys are a notch away from developing an overall "system" and balanced team, that could make a run. Dak is still not and never going to be an elite QB. He had a good game and made some good reads and was a bit better at feeling pocket presence and he also made some good throws into tight areas etc. But he still missed a number of them. The Cowboys are smart to develop around him. He is still not and likely never will be a QB that can just win you a game. He's part of a system and that system, if it develops right, can go a bit far into the season. We shall see.

Buying a Dak jersey after his first season is your issue, stop trying to make it mine.

I noticed yesterday they didn’t play us the way other defenses have. They were giving Beez one on ones without the bracket coverage and he was eating him up. Next week the deadskins will go back to stacking the box. I don’t mind it because when Elliot pops one then it’s a long one. Glad to see them give him enough touches to get his 100. It sure how many he got.

Just so we are clear...i love Tony and defended him with even more vigor than I do Dak. I was merely trying to put into perspective what we have going on with Dak right now. He is gaining VALUABLE experience and it will payoff in the end.

He played a great game yesterday and looked like 2016 Dak out there.

He’s played at a very high level before for an entire NFL season. So we know he can do it. Build off of yesterday and remind the world why we kept Tony Romo on the bench for him.

This is why Jax was a good matchup for us, they play defense the way we play offense. They don't try to fool you, they just try to go right at you and believe their players are better than yours. That kind of play style will likely lose to a good offensive line.

some of the blame has to fall on Dak as he has regressed. I agree, that Beasley shouldn't be our top option, but Patriots run a similar offense with their slot WRs, but they do have down field threats like Gronk (yeah, really) and now Gordon.
I don't think Hurns gets cut, because butler is trash. if you are pinning your hopes on Butler, then we are in bigger trouble than y ou think. Deonte's game is his speed, so not sure why you say he is not fast, but I agree, he doesn't bring much to the table. Williams being our 2nd best WR, says a lot about the state of the WRs even in years past, than anything else.

and welcome to the NFL, every week is a challenge. I don't count beans, you just go out and play who is in front of you on the schedule.

Romo pointed out that until Dak can exploit the area outside the hashes regularly the opposing D will continue to crowd the middle of field making those throwing lanes, windows small and running lanes smalls as well. Once Dak can throw accurately and timely to the outside then it really opens up the playbook.

Who is challenging a defense out there BT?

You can't have it both ways. If we had legitimate threats that could challenge out there and he wasn't doing it, i would give you this point all day. We threaten no one.

And our O-Line played well yesterday. Dak didn’t look scared and took his time. Maybe he is finally getting comfortable after the falcons beating. Lol.

I hope so.

I was critical of Tony and I’m the same way with Dak.

If anything, Dak has shown he has hope and the coaching staff is what’s hindering his development. Dak isn’t good enough yet to overcome the coaches like Tony.
