Dak is “only” 18-24 against teams with winning records…I understand this argument…but it’s kind of flat for several reasons:
- Many great QBs have losing records against winning teams
- Aaron Rodgers is 41-44-1 against teams that finished the season with a winning record.
- Eli Manning was 32-77
- Drew Brees was 49-65
- Kirk Cousins is 10-40
- Matt Stafford is 11-72
- Josh Allen is 12-15
- Pat Mahomes is 10-6
- The GOAT Tom Brady is 74-48, but he’s a huge outlier.
- Only a very select QBs can ever carry a team on their backs to playoff wins or even a consistent record against good teams. Brady, Mahomes….Big Ben was somewhere around .500 against winning teams. Dak is a good, NOT great QB.
- Most teams- certainly the Cowboys- are not built around Dak. The Cowboys have to win as a TEAM, not as the QB goes. Sure, we need Dak to play well. But not carry this team.
