Dak lost the potential playoff QB tag when the destroyed his ankle.
Jerry signing him was just another horrible move on a list of horrible moves by our beloved GM.
Daniel's still has the potential tag.

Not a fan of Dak in the slightest but some of these people worshipping Jayden Daniels are some of the silliest posts I’ve ever seen!! Jayden Daniels is the new flavor of the month and he isn’t that impressive. Once teams and tape catch up to him, he’s going to regress. I love myself some Kirk Cousins and Josh Allen, but Jayden Daniels? Commanders might make the playoffs and maybe even will have a two year run for the post season, but besides that? Please. Lets go Cowboys!!
Can’t compare QB’s unless you are comparing a similar amount of game. At the end of this season you could compare a rookie to daks rookie year but it’s not about a few games or a single season. It’s about the full body of work

1. In no world is Dak better right now
2. If you had your choice for whicih QB is your franchise, there is no wondering
3. Do not compare Daniels to Hurts: Hurts was not a 2nd overall, nor ever considered to be a 1. The changes in OC in Filthy has regressed his progress
4. Yes Daniels is a Rookie and the league can catch up to him, but I can also win the Powerball (I live in Canada, lol)
5. Daniels ran a Pro style offense in college and has thus far not been phased by anything thrown at him
6. Yes Daniels has weapons at his disposal but so has the guy in Jacksonville, and he stinks

Why are we even comparing a QB who can be generational with a 4th round pick? Both teams will not win a ring by QB performance alone either

Counting stats are a terrible way to judge a QB. That stacks the deck for quarterbacks that play for pass-heavy teams and garbage time production.

You gotta go by Yards-Per-Attempt, Interceptions-Per-Attempt, TD-Per attempt. Quarterback rating is a shorthand for that. There are even more sophisticated ways to judge, but QBR exists for a reason. More recent quarterback rating systems include QB runs and other helpful things.

But let's cut to the main point here. EVERYONE and EVERYTHING from FAIL-A-DELPHIA eventually turns to crap. Just give it enough time.
True to a point. However, very low passing yardage says a lot. It almost always means he's a good runner who can pass a little. Problem is, as soon as his legs go south(including injuries), his effectiveness wanes sharply. Which is what is happening.

Plus, another factor. Hurts is a good deep ball passer. The yardage from that facet completes dismantles the Yards per Attempt.

I have no problem saying he was a competent passer. However, that's not what was said. It was declared that he was a "great passer". That is what I see as an erroneous statement.

Well said.

Only thing about Daniels, if he continues to run the ball prolifically, two things will happen: 1) He will start getting hurt. 2) It will hinder his development.

Yes, running the ball makes him better right now. But not running the ball will make him better for the next 10 years. He desperately needs to learn to use him arm to get out of trouble, and only run when absolutely necessary.

Neither will ever win a SB so what’s the point. Both represent the dumbed down nfl.

jayden daniels is talented and right now he throws a better ball than dak. dak reads defenses better but he should after 9 years. by next year i expect him to be better than dak in all phases. dont confuse him with hurtz. daniels is a much better thrower than him. right now dak is better but daniels is more talented.

It pretty much says it all when there are posts propping up our 9 year $60 million QB versus....a guy who's played 4 or 5:games.
Yes it says this fan base is full of morons.. But we already knew that.

When history lacks success, hope provides optimism.

Every new quarterback that performs well will be loved by their team's fans and envied by fans of other teams who have failed to win championships.

If Jayden Daniels continues to play well for the next several years, but his team fails to reach Super Bowls he will be lumped in with Kirk Cousin, Dak Prescott, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, etc. quarterbacks just like each of those players.

In professional sports, you have to win championships or continue to improve every year toward that goal.

When a team peaks or regresses, everything gets questioned and eventually doubt sets in.

Your post is pretty silly if you don’t think Daniels has looked impressive. You sound like you hate Washington because Daniels has looked terrific so far. He’s been so good he’s in the MVP conversation. A rookie hasn’t won MVP since Jim Brown. Daniels is the main reason Washington is 4-1. He’s definitely going to suffer some bumps, but his potential is through the roof. RG3 looked real good his rookie year and it all came tumbling down, but I don’t see that happening with Daniels. The big problem for Washington for a number of years has been at QB and it appears they’ve solved that problem. Daniels has given that franchise a huge lift.

It is just as silly to dismiss him this early as it is to say he is great..

I have watched the last 2 games and he looks good. And his team isnt exactly a great team either.
I need to see more , and curious to see how he does against the ravens.

Gotta give it three years seen way too many one year wonders
Rarely do you see a QB look this good as a rookie and end up being a just a one or two year wonder, especially one drafted in the top five. RG3 looked really good his rookie year but he got injured late that season and it was downhill from there. It appeared he lost his confidence after his leg gave out on him in the playoffs. He didn’t throw the ball as well as Daniels and when RG3 ran he took some violent hits. He didn’t know how to slide and avoid punishment. Daniels looks like he’s gliding when he runs and has a quick release. He can get the ball down the field. Other than RG3 I can’t think of another QB off the top of my head that looked real good as a rookie and ended up flaming out. There’s been a number of one year wonders at other positions, but not at QB. Colin Kaepernick flamed out quick, but he didn’t play much his rookie year and didn’t become a full-time starter until his third season.

This forum has worshipped any shiny new toy QB .. They wanted us to trade the farm to draft Trevor Lawrence or Justin Herbert. They swore not that long ago that Dak was the 4th best QB in the division. Some of these morons will never give Dak his due. It is what it is..
They’ll worship any QB that isn’t Dak. There were Cowboys fans worshiping Trey Lance until he threw 5 INT‘s in preseason. There’s a few that still think he’s better than Dak and should be our starter. Daniels has looked really good. I can understand fans talking to him up but it is early. We’ll see how it plays out. We’ll see how he responds to a real bad game. Eventually he’ll have a stinker and have to rebound. He took over a 4-13 team and has made them a much better football team. Washington has already equaled their win total from last season. Daniels has elevated that team and looks to be the real deal.

He was literally the MVP front runner until he got hurt and then they went to the SB and he outplayed Mahomes….what do you mean he wasn’t?
But you throw interceptions, that’s what happens. Mahomes is the most blessed quarterback I’ve ever seen. Jalen hurts just isn’t that good? The only thing he did was the butt push. Eagles had a great defense. That’s why they were winning not because of Jaylen.

It wasn’t horrible you won 12 games the last 3 years. His ankle isn’t why he hasn’t performed better in the playoffs. His ankle was fine against the Buccs. He can’t beat the 49ers that simple.

It’s unfair to say he’s not Mahomes lol. We know that. Two years ago he was the best quarterback in the league. I’m thr first to call him a running back jokingly but he balled out. When they needed a key throw he would deliver. His fall off has been amazing but no stability to develop.
