wait, I am a little confused. on the one hand people complained that Dak's stats against GB was in garbage time, then here you are saying that Watson and Dak stats were close.

here is how watson did in the first 3 quarter.

Quarter 1: 5/8 for 22 yards....obviously dumping it a lot.
Quarter 2: 3/7 for 13 yards

so at the half he was 8/15 for total of 35 yards
Quarter 3: 10/17 for 80 yards
quarter 4: 9/14 for 50

so after three quarters he was 18 of 32 for 125 yards....

and then he played against a prevent soft defense, scoring a meaning TD at the end of the game.

so was his stats set up in garbage time? he also had two interceptions.

and what do you mean tipped picks? they are picks. they are bad throws. he also had 5 other passes that should have been intercepted dropped.

Watson looked like crap. out of his element. looked lost. didn't make plays.

Dak made enough plays. took what was available. made a few big throws.

not even close. and I am not touting Dak's play. its just that in this game, Watson really sucked.
You are making my point for me. Dak had similar comp % and total yards, and he didn’t have to go for it on a bunch of 4th downs and get the crud beat out of him.

All I’m saying is Dak didn’t have a great game even by his own career stat standards. This was a down game for him in every statistical category. His rating, pass yards, air yards, comp % were much lower than his career avgs

Dak started off his career with like a B-grade arm. It was pretty average for an NFL starter, but no doubt that it was starter level. He could hit all the throws. Time and injuries have lowered it to a C or C minus.

you missed the forest because of the trees.

people said Dak's play against GB was bad for 1st three quarters, and collected junk stats in the 4th to make it look good.

exactly the same for Watson. accomplished nothing in first three quarters. and then game out of hand, out of reach, he collected some stats.

that's the point. sometime you looka t the final stats to make a case. other times you look at quarterly stats....its called moving the goal post.

Dak didn't have a great game. doesn't mean he had a bad game....Watson had a bad game when it mattered. this wasn't a down game. Watson has pretty much been the same.....doesn't do much when it matters. collects stats when it doesn't. they showed a graphic that showed his offensive output was the same as the other QBs who played when he was injured.

Disclaimer: this is not defending a dak or going gaga over Dak post. this was a post about Watson being so over rated and a non factor at this point in his career

Save yourself some typing and just say “I got nothing”

It’s comical how incapable you are of formulating a reply without name calling and personal attacks. I hope you don’t place money bets. I’m the divorce lawyer who uses your abusive style to drain your bank account on repeat. No need for 2 accounts bc unlike yourself I don’t get banned for breaking the rules every post. Don’t lose the farm betting, bruh.

Dak week 1: 20th in completion percentage. 85 QBR … any explanation?

Personal attack prediction: 3
My office mate who just mentioned the Browns had an easy pick 6 early in the game on a Dak, but dropped the ball. I believe that was right before the Cook's TD, when their safety completely blew the coverage on the blitz

Plus, I'm really not sure what relaxed means since Dallas only ran the ball 6 times in the second half.

The narrative of the fanboys are the same, just like Dak's play

You don't get paid as a top QB, or almost win the MVP last year with an "average arm". Some of you guys are so desperate to hate the QB of your favorite team that you'll just make stuff up. There are two significant negatives historically when it comes to Dak:
1. He's shown he can make all of the throws with perfect accuracy. He does not do this consistently, especially against good zone defenses.
2. He has inexplicable drop offs in his play, especially against good opponents and in the post season.

Personally, I believe someone like Dak who has shown dramatic improvement, work ethic, and leadership throughout his career can overcome these issues. Anyone who has overcome all he has, like a 4th round pedigree to become the highest paid player in NFL history (for a second time), is capable.

Yesterday he was playing with two rookies on his line playing in their first game and faced quite a bit of pressure all game. In the second half the game plan was clearly to burn clock and not lose. He threw two absolute dimes to CeeDee in the first half yesterday, one was the laser slant and the other was a perfect fade that dropped right into Ceedee's lap. Those are elite throws average QBs don't make. That TD throw to Cook with the pressure in his face was also great. He absolutely needs to step it up and beat the good teams and go deep in the playoffs but nitpicking him in a week 1 win against a top 2 defense in the league when he had two rookie OL and no preseason is just insane. Simply insane. You guys accuse people of being Dak over Cowboys fans but are clearly anti-Dak over Cowboys fans. Your team just had a great first game and all you're doing is whining and trolling with extremes that have no factual basis. Either that, or you have absolutely no understanding of the nuances of complimentary football short of wanting to see 5 TD passes every game to justify his contract.

Has Watson ever had a good game in a Browns uniform? Or even a good quarter?

He's just looked like trash ever since he arrived. Yesterday was pretty much par for his course.

Spot on! :hammer:

They are very lucky I'm not a mod. They are clearly trolling and deserve a time out.

You seriously need to get off this contract talk. Daniel Jones gets $40mill a year and is a flaming pile of garbage. QBs are going to continue to make a ton of money. Jordan Love got a huge extension based on one single year of his career. Cousins makes a ton of money and has accomplished zero in this league. Stafford was paid huge before ever sniffing one single playoff win. It's the same as the bloated housing market. Homes worth $175k just a few years ago are now worth $600k now with zero improvements or upgrades. Just because the higher price tag, doesn't mean all of a sudden expectations are now higher and it's going to perform better.

If Daniel Jones and Baker Mayfield are getting $40m plus deals, Dak absolutely is going to demand more and rightfully so. Same as Jordan Love and Cousins. These guys are not in a class above Dak and still have a ton to prove. The salary cap keeps rising every year and these contracts as years go by, count less towards the cap. And smart front offices can easily manage these contracts to the cap and move money around to free up space. Eagles do it all the time. When is the last time the Eagles have released someone because they couldn't pay them? In fact, quite the opposite. They seem to have a never ending supply of cap space to sign anyone they want.

Dak isn't going to transform now that he signed a deal. This is now his 9th season. He is who he is. And he will retire a Cowboy, whenever that is.
I’ll talk about Dak’s contract whenever I want - the ink on it is barely dry. And, I don’t care if other teams overpay for pedestrian results - I’m not their fan. As such I’m inclined to hope other teams overpay for under-delivery.

what? Name the coach, owner or PLAYER that is NOT critical after the game? That's the BEST time to be critical...what you gonna wait until next week when we are "focused on the Saints"?

I hear you...I enjoy winning. But...I also was NOT FOOLED by last year's team in GB because I was not just "being happy".

I get that we want positivity, but professionals and fanatics LIVE in criticism world...including after games.
I am a negative nancy but ill
let the coaches be critical …

As a fan i am enjoying this win until next week.
