He's awful in the playoffs, and he's awful against good teams. He was drafted in the 4th round, and I think he's exceeded expectations at times, but he's also played like a 4th round QB often. Saying he's awful means that he's terrible all the time, he's not terrible all the time. I'm not hyping him up, but we have to be real with ourselves. I think there could have been other Qb's that have come here and given us more, but why hang our hats on that???
He's our QB, he's not going anywhere, he has a no trade clause (that can be waived if HE chooses to waive it), hopefully he can be the QB we're paying him to be with the big injury he's coming back from! Please give your thoughts!
Those guys are 60 years old what on earth do they have to do with Dak lol? Dak got runner up. It was Lamar's year. IT happens.Mark Rypien was once League MVP
So was Vinny Testerverde
Dak could not even get close to that- as in no first place votes at all
The second playoff game against the 49ers. The team did well enough to win, but Dak choked. Did the entire team play awesome? No, but the defense held the prolific 49ers to 19 points. The offense could only score 12, so yeah, that's mostly on Dak. But the thread was about the QB, not the team. And yes, while the team chokes in big moments, your vastly overpaid QB should be able to show up when it matters. He doesn't. It is what it is.The whole team sucks at the most important moments because we never build a balanced team. We suck at running the ball in the big games. We suck at stopping the run in the big games. The OL doesn't perform well and the receivers can't get open in the big games. Our pass rush disappears in the big games. Our penalties go up in the big games. There has been no facet of our team other than special teams recently that other parts of the team can lean on in the big games. Our QB is good, not great. In the big games, he is usually asked to throw 35-40 passes or more. That’s not good for any QB, but it’s especially problematic for a 4th round talent with one wr and a questionable OL.
Find me one big game or any playoff game where our TEAM performed well, but we lost due to a poor performance by the QB.
Some love Romo; some love Dak; a few love both or hate both. Our best QBs since Aikman 30 years ago have been an undrafted QB and a 4th round draft pick. Think about that!

LOL.... I wouldn't care if Dak had Dan Marino level stats, he keeps failing when it matters most. That's why I bash him. That and his undeserved contract. This is called Romoium. Y'all gotta tear down Dak to cope with the fact he's about to break all of Romo's records and he took his spot.
He's a bus driver. A backup QB if you will. He can win a few games when needed. He's not franchise QB material. If Romo and Moore didn't get hurt the same year, Dak would have never seen the field his first couple years because he was our number 3 QB that was in the developmental stages (which is where a 4th round QB should be at the beginning) So until Romo got hurt for the final time, I think Jerry and Son was on the right track. He's awful in the playoffs, and he's awful against good teams. We can agree those guys are awful. And that's exactly how Dak plays in the playoffs. He is not awful. Danny Dimes and about twenty others I can think of (Including Lance) are awful.
Not one usually to agree with yourself, but that's a fair assessment.Everyone knows Dak isn't elite. But the whole team wasn't good in the playoffs and struggled vs good teams.
Now look up where Dak is ranked vs winning teams compared to other starting quarterbacks vs winning teams. He's not nowhere near the bottom.
Now when a 1st round drafted quarterback like Matthew Stafford is ranked like 11-70 vs winning teams, he gets built in excuses claiming it was bad team and bad coaching he had to endure..... why do other quarterbacks who were drafted higher than Dak and play bad get the team included in their short comings..... but when we talk about Dak, we dismiss the fact that our team contributed to some of our lack of success?
It's a team game for other quarterbacks, but it's all on Cowboys quarterbacks solely??? Same thing happened to Romo. I guess when you play quarterback for the Cowboys, it's not a team game.
Oh did I mention that our Dallas Cowboys led the NFL in penalties for multiple seasons? Name me the quarterbacks who had success on league leading penalized teams....
With that said, Dak certainly deserves his share of blame, no question. But Dak isn't at fault for playing under sub par coaching, league leading penalties and defenses giving up damn near 200 yards on the ground.
I'll conclude with this.... i do not believe Dak is the answer to lead us where we want to go. He's a damn good quarterback, but we need something more from him, that i don't believe he has.
Here you go again. Jones signed that contract in 2023, or two years after Prescott signed his deal. Jackson, Herbert and Hurts all signed deals in 2023 that were north of 50 million/year.Daniel Jones signed a 4/160 million dollar deal lol. That gives you Daniel Jones.
Yeah timing is way more important than the actual numbers on these contracts. The Daniel Jones deal was more in line with what Kirk Cousins or Derek Carr got on the open market recently, around 16-17% of the cap and 50% guaranteed money. Here you go again. Jones signed that contract in 2023, or two years after Prescott signed his deal. Jackson, Herbert and Hurts all signed deals in 2023 that were north of 50 million/year.
Dak signed a deal that put him right at the top of the salary heap and Jones signed a deal that paid him considerably less than the top of the heap.
Yea very luckyWe were lucky to get Dak. He's helped keep the team relevant most years but it seems clear he will never be the big winner we want and some feel they deserve.
Because I’ll take the remaining 55m and sign high quality free agents to improve the overall team. Strong defense and run game with Trey just managingWhy would you want someone who threw 5 picks in a preseason game lol? You'd do better not wanting either lol.
Because you are lying. Look how you talk about Romo and look how you talk about Dak. It’s clear lol. You aren’t the only one.LOL.... I wouldn't care if Dak had Dan Marino level stats, he keeps failing when it matters most. That's why I bash him. That and his undeserved contract.
Romo has nothing to do with why I can't stand Dak, but A/C and now you continue to play that card.
What high quality free agents lol? Did you see free agency? There aren’t any lol. Osa was a “high quality free agent” lol.Because I’ll take the remaining 55m and sign high quality free agents to improve the overall team. Strong defense and run game with Trey just managing
