This is the kind of laziness I have spoken about before.
So you are avowing that it was Dan and Jim that "failed when it mattered most" when their team lost the super bowls.
Well...first off...they did in fact make it to the super bowl(s). So right there Dak's out of that comparison.
And how did those two QB's perform in their super bowls? HOW...did they fail exactly?
Once we get through that we can do the same for Dak.
Well yes, Marino did make it to one Superbowl and loss. Kaepernick also made it to a Superbowl and loss. That's not laziness, that is real life facts. So what should I take from that? Marino and Kaepernick are on the same tier? They both only have one Superbowl appearance apiece, correct?
The real question is, with all of Marino's numbers, he failed since he never won Superbowls, correct? There is a certain standard for quarterbacks that has been established on this forum, so I'll respectfully stick to the guidelines of these pre-set rules....
Now Nick Foles and Trent Dilfer WON Superbowls. Something Marino and Kelly weren't able to do. Kelly actually had four cracks at it and it only took Foles and Dilfer ONE try and they won.
Again.... according to the "stats don't matter only, winning Superbowls do" crowd..... Foles and Dilfer should be shown more respect than Kelly and Marino, right?
As a matter of fact, according to these same guidelines for quarterbacks, Eli Manning won TWO Superbowls. So clearly Eli Manning was a much better quarterback than Marino and Kelly. According to the standards for quarterbacks that was established on this great fan forum.
Now these guidelines that were established for Romo and Dak, goes for EVERY other quarterback in NFL history, no excuses, no cherry picking, no goal post moving. It can't be one set of rules for Cowboys quarterbacks and all of a sudden a different set of rules or a team game or a coaching staff excuse for other NFL quarterbacks. If stats don't matter for one quarterback then stats don't matter for ALL quarterbacks.
If it's on one quarterback to succeed a certain way, then that same rule goes for ALL quarterbacks.
