Dak problem has been the option route and targeting Gallup against Gilmore. I could have told you that Gilmore would lock down Gallup. Just a bad match up. He's not overly shifty. Dak still think MG is MG of 2019 when he's still healing. All of these interceptions are coming from having too much faith in the WR. Correctable mistakes.
Do people not realize we converted multiple third and longs?
I agree. That was never going to be a good matchup, and I would never throw at Gilmore unless the receiver is wide open. So that's just a bad decision by Dak, and I assume Gallup was not the primary target.
Oftentimes, the Cowboys are bad about exploiting other team's weaknesses.
I do wonder what film Moore is watching all week, only to come out in the 1st quarter looking like he didn't do ANY study. We run the same basic run plays, rarely throw more than a 5-yard pass on the first drive (we just dink and dunk and try to get a 1st down with RAC yards)...just no creativity. No exploiting their defense early. It's like the Cowboys only know how to jab early...and are OK just punting with their first offensive possession. It's really strange to me, because it happens almost every game. Same vanilla crap.
Sure, the offense picks up steam later as the game moves on, but in some games, especially on the road, the offense needs to make a statement EARLY to put some fear in the defense. Instead, we always give the opposing team's Dee early confidence. **sigh**
