If it touches your hands, you catch it period. There are few second chances in the league let alone a game. WRs get all kinds of passes and their purpose is to do what? Catch it. Dak could have thrown the perfect pass and he should be racked over the coals for it. But the TE don't get off because of that.
That phrase is oversimplified mantra.
If you’ve ever played sports, in particular, football at any level, even in the backyard you know not every pass that hits your hands can be caught.
When your QB underthrows the ball it raises the level of difficulty. I’ve said it previously but the worst thing a QB can do to reciever running directly away from him is not throw it a bit wide, or a little high, but rather throwing it short because you have to gear down and wait on a ball you instinctively are expecting to at least reach you.
