Twitter: Dak needs 6 passing touchdowns to become the Cowboys franchise leader

Qb play got better and offenses got smarter…
Yeah, sure. Had nothing to do with defenses being neutered from touching the WR or the QB. Hell of a lot easier to design an offense when the WR's get to run free without fear of getting blown up when the ball arrived. Not to mention the 2004 "Emphasis" on defensive holding in the secondary, followed up by the 2014 "Re-Emphasis" on it.

None of that correlates to a passing boom.

Defenses did get neutered too. All is true.

Lol, and neither one of them have even sniffed anything more than a divisional playoff game. Talking about a low bar. Seriously, when the top 2 franchise QB’s (EVER) with the most TD passes haven’t even won a divisional playoff game you should know something is wrong.
that's not a low bar, it's the bar lol. it's not subjective

Sure, but 1 is more true than all the others.
I mean true is true lol. Is there not more things like pre snap motion in the game then there was 30 years ago? So while defenses were allowed to be more physical then today there’s still a lot of things you have to pay attention to pre snap to be successful.

You don't say...... So it's only an individual thing when we're propping Dak, right?
It's a hard thing to wrap your head around. I JUST came from a thread with people lecturing others about "don't blame just Dak it's a TEAM game".

Now I'm here, we're getting ready to crown Dak with an individual stat award.

It's like an epic tennis match!

Absolutely not. Dak has never won any games by himself either. See, im not one of those folks here that have one standard for one set of quarterbacks, but a different standard for a different set of quarterbacks in the same identical situations.

Football is a team game. No quarterback who has ever lived, who's currently alive, and future unborn quarterbacks have ever or will never win a football game by themselves.

Is that clear enough for you my friend? No double standards or hypocrisy here!!
Haven't read it all just yet....but I doon;t see you criticizing this "individual" stat declaration.

I'm just spitballing here but I'm going to say Eli Manning is the absolute luckiest quarterback to ever play in the NFL.
Lol
Kind of the polar opposite of Tony Romo who if anything could go wrong it would at the worst time.
I've said that many times. The guy had LOADED teams. WRs that would flat out chase any lob. Big brusing RBs. Big o-line. Great D and coaches.

Meanwhile Tony had Sam Hurd, Patrick Clayton and Tashard Choice.

(before anyoen starts in, yes...I know Romo had some good players...but not as consistently crushing as Eli.)

It's a team game. What did Aikman sniff until surrounded by a great defense, the Great Wall, along with great weapons and coaching, and what did he sniff after some of that was gone? Same question for Mahomes, Burrows, Rodgers, and most other QBs. (not that Romo or Dak are in that category of talent...they are not). No QB sniffs any success without a well balanced team and very good coaching, along with a little luck.
I think there's a problem with communication here.

I don't see where anyone is emphatically blaming only Dak. (could be there I just don't see it). I fear some people might hurt themselves jumping to this conclusion.

I do see some people saying Dak played his part in the failures too. As a "TEAM". He's part of the team that failed.

Isn’t that true if every sport though? The NBA guys are coming in at 19 establishing records. Product is so watered down.
3 points and dunks.
Yes. Fans love scoring...look at all the changes in rules and emphasis on old rules that have been enforced in the NBA over the past 20 years. I'd paste them here but apparently pasting AI answers isn't allowed and I don't feel like typing them all out. It's why looking at these stats relative to their eras is important.

The only accurate ranking statistically is among his peers, where last season he was ranked around top 5-7 last season. Even then your surroundings are different.
Becoming the franchise leader is a milestone whether you like it or not. If you're not like: "Good for him, that's cool" you're just a hater for the sake of hating.

Romo had a team with a record 13 pro bowlers on it. Romo wasn't unlucky, he just wasn't good enough when it really mattered.

I criticize when players play bad and I give praise when players play good. So I don't even know what you're talking about. My stance is very clear to the intelligent people here.

And since you want to put your 2 cents into it, I told the person who presented these statistics that it was a very good and informative post.

Once again, make sure you know what you're talking about before you proceed to troll.

You should be able to land a toilet tissue endorsement or something for all the times you've made yourself look like an ***. Let me be your agent.

Eli was blessed with some good players but man that guy had the football gods looking out for him and Tony was stuck in some kind of NFL purgatory.

That too but the ball did not bounce his way much.

If something could go wrong it most likely would.

Like he didn't throw a whole lot of interceptions but when he did it wasn't like 5 seconds before halftime all the way down the other teams end of the field basically is good as a punt.

It was one of those ones that made it impossible for the team to overcome it and come back.

The memorable ones that just burned in your mind like the catch and Jackie Smith.

They also went from a 12 game schedule to 17.
Yeah, nice try...114 times from 2011-2021. So there was 1 season with 17 games in there. Keep flailing.

Literally 5x more 4000 yard seasons in the 2010s than the 90s
The NFL moved to 16 games in 1978, long before all the major QB protections were put in place. What is your point in even mentioning that?

QB stats are inflated because of rules changes, not because of the number of games
