Dak numbers without Zeke

It wasn't good by any means. But, a lot of it had to do with the O-Line and Tyron's absence.

Tonight he was poor overall, but did show some really good glimpses. He just started to hear the footsteps and that threw him off. But he is doing some good things that he wasn't doing before. And boy do I hate some of the play calls/routes they have these guys run at times. If I never saw another all curls or short double outs from this team, it wouldn't be soon enough.

we win and you guys are bagging on the qb? Might as well just go be an eagles fan

yea no kidding. After all the years of losing games just like this we win one, a crucial one and people just find stuff to complain about during the win.

the official post game show right now which is always bad is complaining about wr and how they havent made changes during the year. as if they could sign jerry rice and john taylor in the middle of the season or something.

There was so, so much more to it than just missing Zeke. We were missing our three best players all at once.

Was it pretty? It was not. But I don't think it was as bad as those raw numbers would indicate without proper context.

I don't see it as the end of the world that a second year QB needs help around him to be effective. Look at Wentz last year, in a much better system no less than this 1980s pop warner offense.

In summary, I think it's disingenuous and slanted to try to present these stats as simply Dak with/without Zeke.

I hate that this all gets rolled up into Zeke's absence. When the reality is, we were missing a lot of key players during the bulk of those six games.

Dak played poorly again tonight, though, and not always because of the pressure. He came through when it counted, though, and that long pass to Dez and the big drive off of the fake punt were big time series.

This. Only if you're trying to drive an anti-Dak agenda (for whatever reason) could you try to present this as simply missing Zeke. It was so much more than that.

I'm concerned about Dak's play. He was all world last year. There's plenty of excuses why he hasn't been as good this year. But he still manages to get victories. If we win either of the GB or LA games we are 9-5 and in the thick of things. He didn't cause us to lose both of those games.

He did have a stinker v. PHI, and wasn't very good tonight, missing some early chances to take control of the game, but too much is getting made of the Zeke angle. It'll be great to have him back, though, and he also ought to give an emotional lift to this team.

No!!

We are cowboys fans!

I guess while other teams lock up first round byes we should be content that we won on a fluke play...

Is that what real fans do?

real fans understand that we have a 2nd year qb who is playing with an offensive staff that doesn't adjust and is also playing without their elite running back and a beat up Tyron Smith. We understand that looking at the past, not even Romo could break out of 8 and 8 seasons until we solidified our O line and had a historic year from Demarco Murray. We realize that maybe an offense predicated on an elite running game is going to look like garbage without an elite runner. We sit back and we appreciate the victory and move on.

I miss Romo.

There's nothing wrong with that. He was a borderline HoF QB. Amazing player.

I just don't think that justifies crucifying a second year QB who has played very well overall for two years and still has things to work on. There are very, VERY few second year QBs that don't need a good supporting cast (Wentz included as evidenced last year) to be effective.
