· Deuuuuuce: Can mark this down. After what Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has said this week about Deuce Vaughn, along with COO Stephen Jones and owner Jerry Jones, no matter he's just 5-foot-5, he is going to make this team. And for good reason. He has performed at a high level, not just scoring those touchdowns in each of the first two preseason games, but he's become a constant threat running the ball in practice. And from the sounds of things, sure doesn't seem as if it will be either Vaughn or KaVontae Turpin. After all, Turpin was a Pro Bowl returner his rookie season last year. Why not have both.

This is obvious to anyone who saw him play college football. Gadget players don’t carry the football 500+ times in two years.
I usually only watch the NFL. I would watch it all day and do it all day if I could get paid for it though.
I haven't been excited about someone's tape since Cole Beasley was my pet cat as an UDFA but the next step up is against the real pros. There was Devin Hester annointing oil on Turpin last season and a step up to the pros lessened that chatter.
I could have several. I try to have one main one and maybe four or five others. The draft is fun, though.

I think Turpin and Vaughn could have similar roles in the offense as well, at least at times.

Gadget or not, he'll never be a starting RB1 in this league. Call it what you want.

He's got something, so I don't doubt that. You can see his quickness. People should have realistic expectations though.
Who the hell cares. In 2023 you don’t even need a freaking RB other than to block die the QB, and TEs can do that. What year are you stuck in?

Agree I think that would be a terrible idea and probably be the end of his career. But definitely could be RB2 and I’m not afraid of running him between the tackles a bit just not 15x per game. I’m hoping we can get both he and TP in the backfield a few plays so defenses have no idea which one to chase until it’s too late.

Garden variety standard offensive play count is 60 plays.
Just totally stereotype balance it out to 30 runs and 30 passes.
Split the run touches to Pollard, Dowdle, Vaughn and Davis.
Or if they keep Jones over Davis then there's that.
Ya gotta figure to start with Pollard most likely getting 15 touches.
Split the remaining 15 between Dowdle and Vaughn.
Or between Dowdle, Vaughn and either Davis/Jones.

So yeah.
He most likely ain't gonna be getting opportunities in front of what I've described.

Best to make the most of his limited chances.

That's reality.

If he makes the team, I'll be the first to say so.
Still doesnt mean I'll agree with it. Doesnt mean they hand him a yellow jacket. Doesnt mean he'll actually help the team.
It means he was handed a spot.
Nope. He will have earned it.

If the Cowboys cut him he would be picked up in a NY minute.
