Dak on his legacy - I want to win a championship

While they have Daniels for "cheap", the Commanders front office haven't sat on their hands like JJ did and is still doing. They're building on what they have.

People seem to ignore the $30M+ in cap space JJ is sitting on right now.
Daniels got them to doorstep of the SB in his rookie season with a "let's see" roster. Dak had a "we think we can win a chip with Romo" roster.

I do agree that our team is not helped by the front office...but that doesn't mean that the product on the field was not viable. It's as viable as the "let's see" roster that JD had last year...with or without $30mm investment. I agree that the success of Commanders last year demands the front office invest...but shouldn't repeated failures by Dak demand they DIVEST themselves of a perennial choker?

This entire rant is based entirely on a fallacy.

You take the commonly used term "elevate those around him" and twist the obviously intended meaning and create a strawman by adding your own "to a championship", as if to say the one can't be credited with elevating those around him if it doesn't lead to a championship.

It's essentially the same strategy as saying a QB sucks only because he hasn't won a championship.

I love the irony.
Some people are VERY clever at putting in just the right word or phrase that changes the whole rhetoric, trying to make the other side look ridiculous. Good job spotting it!

One of the buzz words is "super bowl". We all know how difficult that is. But "leading" us to getting our butts whipped in the first round of playoffs, at home, ain't gonna cut it.

JJ didn't build on it with significant talent/FA signings for 2-3(?) years until Amari, then it was too late.
If you recall Dak along with the rest of the cowboys brain trust kicked Dez out and thought Dak would be fine with Cole Beasley as WR1. Took 3 games to realize that Dak Prescott isn’t the guy to elevate anyone. So they burn a #1 pick for cooper.

Sometimes good teams play terribly and lose... thats football.

They invested in Dak by giving him a new contract. So there's no good reason they shouldn't build a team around him, even if its for his successor.

Since you think Dak is a "perennial choker", you should be all for JJ building the team so the next guy can hit the ground running... like Dak did.

Dez fell off a cliff after getting released, if he didn't you would have a point. After the Dez release, the fans and media dang near begged JJ to get a WR in free agency, but JJ waited and pretended the WR room was fine... til it wasn't.

Its interesting that you slight Dak for not being able to win with Terrence Williams/Cole Beasley as a #1...

Neither could his teams/defenses.

Romo made up for that with his 8 fumbles. Dak has only one fumble in the playoffs and he’s played in more playoff games.
Three fumbles lost. One on the infamous slicked ball field goal holding snap. Fumbles can happen for a multitude of reasons, inclusive of blindside hits to the QB. They’re less likely to be a QB’s fault than an interception since QBs are often holding the ball loosely.

So, no he didn’t “make up” for Dak’s horrible interceptions which is what was referenced.

You’re blaming a slick football for the fumble on the snap? lol That fumble cost us the game. Romo is best remembered for that play. One of his playoff INTs was when the game was on the line and he got picked in the endzone against the Giants. I’m not even counting all of the turnovers he had in the three season final finale elimination game losses that had a playoff spot on the line. Against Philly in 08 in the 44-6 debacle he had an INT and 2 lost fumbles.

Against the Giants in 2011 he had an INT and a lost fumble. Against Washington in 2012 he had 3 INTs. If you want to spend all day arguing about Romo vs Dak I’m not wasting my time with it so save yourself a lengthy response. They both had their issues in the playoffs, but the bottom line is neither one had a good enough team and defense to get it done.

"We all want to win a championship, Lieutenant Dak. It doesn't mean we or you will."

You wouldn’t be spinning any of that had it happened to Dak…Fact! Funny how some of you continue to make excuses for Romo’s mistakes but go out of your way to blame Dak.

Dak team won 4 games before he got there. They was *** stop it.

Im telling you what im saying in a nutshell. Dak is judged by how well the entire Dallas Cowboys football team does in the postseason.

Well ALL other quarterbacks will be judged by the same standards.

What is the problem with that?
