Dak on his legacy - I want to win a championship

The greatest athletes in football didn't all win an MVP award. There are lots of elite athletic players who've never won that award before.

The simple fact is he plays QB, and he’s the highest paid one at that. A QB is not the only reason a team wins or loses, but he is the one that can affect the game’s outcome more than any other position. He’s the one that is supposed to elevate the play of the other players around him.

When Dak is getting paid the amount he is, and the Cowboys are getting the results they are, you are fighting a very steep uphill battle when you expect everyone to divide the blame equally

You said, "the quarterback is supposed to elevate the play of the players around him", correct? That's fair.

Well according to this statement you made.....

1. That nullified all the years of excuses Matthew Stafford got for having a CAREER record of 17-70 vs winning teams being blamed on his stint in Detroit. He was considered a better talent being drafted in the first round. So if a 4th round pick like Dak is held to this standard, then ALL quarterbacks drafted in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds have zero excuses. If quarterbacks truly must elevate the play of the other players around him.

2. This means that we must place more respect on Trent Dilfer and Nick Foles names, more than Jim Kelly and Dan Marino because Kelly and Marino COULD NOT elevate the play of the players around them to have achieved a Superbowl victory like Foles and Dilfer achieved. Again, this falls under the umbrella of quarterbacks elevating the play of the other players around them.

3. We also have to place Colin Kaepernick a tier above Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson (currently) due to the fact that Allen and Jackson were unsuccessful at elevating the play of the players around him enough to reach a Superbowl like Colin Kaepernick did.

To conclude, i have absolutely no problem with holding Dak accountable for unsuccessfully elevating the play of the other players around him when it counts the most..... lets just make sure that we keep that same energy for EVERYONE who plays the quarterback position in the NFL.

How can anyone get tired of the truth?? That sounds crazy. People would rather believe in and post false narratives than actual real life facts?

Around here, quarterbacks are measured by the biggest games and post season success, correct?? Why do people set standards for one quarterback, yet give excuses and goalpost moving to other quarterbacks in the same situations?

I've learned long ago, the truth hurts and crush narratives. Its a few sore people around here when it comes to accountability for ALL quarterbacks, not just one. Pretty hilarious.

so now almost catches and this and that are reason for a loss, picking specific plays. etc.

well if Diggs doesn't drop the sure interception that hit him square in the hands, then yeah, SF doesn't score down in the redzone. if Diggs just gets in with Kittle instead of ducking to hit him, the Kittle doesn't make a big play catch in the middle of the field and SF doesn't drive down to score.

all kinds of little stuff like this can be pointed to as excuses for one or the other.

and why was CD sitting on the sideline against GB pouting? he dropped two sure first down passes that an all pro-wr should have have made.

This entire rant is based entirely on a fallacy.

You take the commonly used term "elevate those around him" and twist the obviously intended meaning and create a strawman by adding your own "to a championship", as if to say the one can't be credited with elevating those around him if it doesn't lead to a championship.

It's essentially the same strategy as saying a QB sucks only because he hasn't won a championship.

I love the irony.

Dak got paid $4M total in his rookie contract, and the front office did absolutely nothing in to build a championship roster.

So you wanting him accept $0 to prove his devotion to a championship wouldn't have the effect you want.

While they have Daniels for "cheap", the Commanders front office haven't sat on their hands like JJ did and is still doing. They're building on what they have.

People seem to ignore the $30M+ in cap space JJ is sitting on right now.
