There is a relatively small group of fans who really want to break down a game and discuss both what went right & what went wrong and what that means going forward. You are exactly correct, until our defense began to capitalize on their shortcomings, this game was very much undecided. A few plays go differently & you might have been looking at a much different outcome.

Please 170 on 30 attempts. The only way you win with 5.6 yrds per attempt is with a good defense and running game.

Dak was terrible this game. We should have been up14 at the end of the 3rd but Dak held us back. The running game and Ceedee making the most of dump offs was the reason we had 21

If those were Cooper Rushs numbers, they be all over him like white on rice.

personally, I’m fine with Daks numbers and he made some nice 3rd down throws to move the chains.

Many of us have said that less Dak, more running is a good thing for the team so we can’t knock him when that’s what actually happens. Credibility is everything

yup 21-19 in the 4th quarter to an atrocious team like the Colts should be discussed. We still have some issues but a 33 point quarter masks a lot of blemishes

This was the template to (hopefully) finally show even the most ardent of Dak fans that WE look far better when he is a bus driver and not trying to be 'the man'.

We looked patchy in the first couple of drives.. then pollard broke two runs in a row.. zeke had two monster runs and it just started rolling from there. Then the defence took over in the last and it was all over in a hurry. It also proves, yet again, that a strong running game can rack up big scores. There is an over obsession with the passing game across the league.. but if you look at so many of the top teams.. it all comes on the back of a strong running game.. unless you are lucky enough to have a Mahomes..

If Dak plays within his limits.. we can go deep into playoffs this year. Our run game and defence are that good.

That's the problem. Dak and Moore like to experiment and stray from what is kicking butt to air it out at the weirdest times. A world-class defensive effort helped too. Now let's hope they're all consistent and Moore has finally learned to call what works for the talent we have rather than trying to pretend we have something else. Excellent adjustments this time.

As was said in the gameday thread at the half...great teams blow out teams like the Colts. The Cowboys clearly were not great because....

Well...

They didn't blow out the Colts to the fourth. That's the ticket.

So the Eagles and Chiefs aren't great then. Chiefs LOST to this team, and the Eagles eeked out a 1 point win after trailing 10 going into the 4th quarter.

This is not a knock on Dak.. this is a "complete team win" the less we rely on 1 player the better. Romo years are gone.

A "complete team win" only happened in the 4th quarter. Before that, the Cowboys were inconsistent which kept the Colts in the game, making the visitors think they were relevant. The Colts should have taken the task of hiring an interim head coach more seriously. And the Cowboys will pay dearly if they start a game like that in the Playoffs. You can get away with it when playing the likes of the Colts but the game would have been over for the Cowboys before the blowout of a 4th quarter got started if you pull that stunt against an NFC playoff team.

I hate it when 4th quarter blowouts make the bulk of us forget the first three quarters the Cowboys played like a team destined to be one and done in the playoffs. Contrary to the previously posted opinion, these are not the best kind of wins.

With due respect every time except the teams without Mahomes, Burrow or Josh Allen, wishes they have one of those guys. Burrow is this generation's Joe Montana and Mahomes and Allen are just athletic freaks.

yeah Dak did a decent job but he made a couple of really bad throws. He could have easily had 3 picks

He is going to get a lot of credit for the scoring. People wont realize that we had a defensive TD and Dak had 4 short-field drives from turnovers. They will just say "since Dak has been back the Cowboys have scored 37 point a game" or whatever it is, suggesting its all him, when it is not

exactly! so many Cowboy blemishes that will get exploited against a good team. no way this team can win multiple playoff games in a row on the road with such little urgency from the first snap. Kellen Moore and Dak typically look lethargic early, it's just pitiful to not come out with more "want to" especially in the playcalling.

IM sorry... but this is ridiculous. Do you actually think that we can count on the defense creating 5 turnovers in the playoffs? The defense was responsible for 21 points last night. Sure, that would be awesome if we could get that each week.... but it isnt happening.... period.
