Dak, Parsons, CeeDee, Diggs. who do you pay?

Parsons, Lamb and Dak are all going to get paid. The salary CAP continues to rise and they can redo deals if and when it is needed.

I am against average teams mortgaging the future but this team is ready to contend so you have to keep those guys.

That's the key to this. Keep finding undrafted talent and drafting well and you don't have to worry about letting a few guys go or being top heavy. They have a lot of cheap talent thanks to finding them.

1. Parsons - Pay that man whatever he wants......no questions asked

2. Dak - restructure. no matter what ya think of him its hard to get QBs

3. CeeDee - pay the man

4. Diggs - trade him for picks


Diggs is good but we can live without him in my view

We already paid Diggs.

My opinion is they will all get paid

Pay Parsons and CeeDee. With those two and the rest of the team locked down you basically just need a bus driver at QB so I don't see why you would give Dak a monster deal.

All I know is Dak is the most pedestrian on this list. I know his position is the most important but he’s also the worst and most overpaid for what he does. Right now, he’s nothing but a bus driver. Parsons, Diggs, and Ceedee actually change the game.

Agreed. The issue really isn't with these four, it becomes the 2nd/3rd tier players on the roster that you often have to sacrifice to pay your top players. It may be a Tyler Biadasz or OSA type player that becomes the cap casualty.

Those are the tough ones and that’s the core of your roster. The key is keep drafting well because that’s the only way you can pay that many of your top players is let the 2nd tier guys walk

By never do you mean recently? Nick Bosa just signed after his 4th year. The other DPOY TJ Watt did the same. It will definitely happen. And even if it actually were "never" Micah is changing things up around here. When the extension actually kicks in is not the question.

It happens a lot and in most cases it’s smart because it’s cheaper against the cap to sign rather than tag since you can spread out the hits around other big contract hits

Is the energy behind paying Dak due to our cap and his accelerating cost against it, or because he has earned a market extension?

If they have more money on the cap in the coming years, why not carry his current salary and hit?

I’d appreciate anyone that knows the answer cuz I don’t.

Micah is the only one I want to make sure they pay top of the market dollar to.

Salary cap is going way up next few seasons. Diggs/Dak already paid, just will restructure/extend to fit CeeDee in, then they will make Parsons the highest paid player.

There is just simply no way your ever let go of a player like MP.
If you cannot find a way to hold that player or gain substantial revenue in return than you pay the man and back up the Brinks truck.

Parsons is expecting to earn his money and he’s as good of a risk as you are going to find but I doubt Parsons plays without an extension as soon as he is eligible.

Besides, waiting tends to cost you more in the long run.

The first half of your statement is certainly critical. But the primary reason is a lack of a better choice. I don't come in here and kiss his arse like some people do, but he's still a pretty good QB. He's not among the elite, but he's not the ho hum average QB a lot make him out to be. Look around the league. You want Kenny Pickett? Josh Allen is a turnover machine. Is Herbert blowing anyone's hair back?

Very few QBs elevate their team to play at a higher level. But there are plenty that drag the team down. IMO Dak is neither. Most QBs are as good as the team around them.

We give Parson the Tyron Smith contract, Tyron always knew he would get taken care of forever by Jerry.

MP gets a huge megaton deal, but the term will always be flexible, to benefit the entire team, that's called getting fully paid insurance for life.

Peeps can say what they want to about Jerry, but his handshake has always been solid, and players in this league know that and respect that.

Not really our problem. The Cowboys brain trust will figure out a way to pay them all. The player I am concerned about losing is Tyler Biadasz, not Lamb, Diggs, Dak, or the Lion.

I’m trying to take this approach as well. During the season I just want to focus on what we have and week to week. It takes the fun out of it always discussing the business side of it.

No he won't because it doesn't happen. He is costing himself money by signing an extension after year 3.

Not sure if you heard but Stephen once said the LBer position is the most injured position in football. This is why I think he will try and get signed sooner, rather than later.

Parsons isn't really an LB, everyone knows that, and the title of his position doesn't really matter for his next contract.

He could pretty much not play another snap from now until 2025 and get the Bosa deal.
