Dak Prescott and the offense has been the problem

As we know....Dak isnt the problem, however with the talent, resources and onus placed on him and the Offense it needs to be doing better than 16 and 13 pts (especially when they're at pretty much full strength) .... and based on last years claims "we just need an average Defense", well two weeks of conceding 23 and 24 pts isnt bad.
We need Jerry to accept that he needs to retool the resources he has......Dak's not ever going to win a ring in Dallas (maybe he'll waive the NTC). If, and we shouldnt, be prepared to to pay 2 WR's top 5 money then Pickens has to be traded.

If Dak could waive his NTC, I could see someone trading for him that's a QB away but is better run. And I think we have to trade Pickens. He's not coming back next year regardless. We aren't anywhere close to a championship. Might as well trade him and get draft pick(s) for him.

Dak Prescott and the offense has been the problem. I know it's easy to rip on the D. But, let's be honest. Dak and the offense have been POOR, especially the last two weeks. The D has actually been improving, and I loved seeing them be more physical today. Not their fault that the offense couldn't score more than 7 in the first half against Tampa, and scored 0 in the first half against GB (even AFTER a pick).

I don't understand why we aren't taking deep shots. We have elite WRs in Lamb and Pickens. If you have WRs like them who thrive in deep passes (like we saw last season), then we SHOULD take a few shots every so often. Even if it doesn't succeed, it plants a seed of doubt in the opposing D, and it gets them to back off. But, for whatever reason, we aren't doing that. We're just dinking and dunking with WRs who are capable of more than that. But then, tonight, the one time they tried that, Dak threw it right to the Packers after we got a pick.

So, I'm afraid that I'm going to have to say it. I like Dak. But, it's time to find the next franchise QB. This team clearly doesn't have a spark. The offense looks woeful, despite over $100 mil allocated to that side in cap space ($60M of which to the QB). I think the time has come for 1. Us to get a more proper HC (maybe someone like Sean McDermott) and 2. It's time to find the next QB. I think we'd sit the rookie a year behind Dak to learn the pro game, but I think 2027 has to be the last year. Dak looks to be regressing.

My ONE concern is that I DO NOT want Archie Manning. But, I am concerned/expecting Jerry to draft him for his last name to try to sell him as the next franchise QB.

I get that, but they haven't been giving up a lot of points on the scoreboard. They've been getting stops. And they've been pretty solid in the first half the last two weeks. If the offense is what they say they are, we have to be coming away with more than 7 points total in the first half in two games.

I think its hard to win in this league. For whatever reason some teams have good coaching, good talent and good team chemistry. We don't have all 3 and it shows up every year. I think its time for Jerry to sell the team.

We are stuck with him for 2027 and 2028. Spending resources trying to replace him now would only take away from trying to build a better team.

UNLESS you can talk Dak into waiving his no-trade clause and you find some team willing to make a deal for him. Good luck with that.

They can cut Dak as a June 1st designation and be fine in 2028. They have a year to find a replacement, but Jerry’s ego won’t let him do that. He’ll ride him until he’s forced to retire from an injury.

I think teams have figured out if they cover the slants, Dak becomes a deer in the head lights. Dak knows he doesn't have time to go to another hot read because the protection won't hold up. Pretty easy to see for anyone, even a 70 year old fan with failing eyesight.

Even when he has time, he can’t make a throw from the pocket anymore. He’s mechanics are off. That’s why he’s constantly trying to do that ridiculous jump pass. I think he’s just physically cooked.

If the Cowboys had any balls they'd bench him. Maybe then he'd be open to a trade. The problem is they need to draft or acquire someone who they can say with a straight face they are trying to develop .
