Some clearly don't want him on the team because they don't want Dak to have the competition.
You’re so full of crap I have not heard 1 person say that . Why don’t you show us?

Even the most ardent Dak supporters know it’s really a no lose trade and potentially puts the contract negotiating on a more level playing field and perhaps Lance develops

Most also know he’s at least a year out maybe more

There is however plenty of proof of people wanting Dak gone under all circumstances

I guess I look at it differently.
Dak already has all the money he will ever need. You claim he doesn;t?
And taking $40 million instead of $60 million, just tell me why not?
With that money the team can get stronger which in the end is in Daks own interest.
He’s signing one more contract in his career. It’s going to be a significant one. He’s earned it. Not just because of today. 5 years, $255 million is not top five for an NFL QB, and by this time next season, definitively 18 months from now, will not represent top ten. 5/255 is a discount. I suspect his representatives will argue for more.

They just make crap up, throw it out and see if it sticks. I hope Lance develops quickly because Rush is not a legit NFL backup QB IMO.

It takes one week for 20% of fans to hop back on the Dak cart that's heading for the same cliff it falls off ever year.

These are you buds lolololol
Careful … you know who you are likely to be associated with here at CZ.

I’m happy to align with fans.

Are you happy to align with the posters here that root against the team?

Being discontented with the drought of super bowls is one thing.

Actively turning on the team is another.
It really grinds me when someone says, ‘(So and so) has all the money they’ll ever need.’

That's not for anyone to say other than the person getting paid. As fans, we'd love for him to take a discount, but to expect him to isn't right.

There are plenty of people around the world that would say that the majority of people posting here make more money than they need, but they choose to waste it on fancy houses, cars, clothing, etc.

Dak may be satisfied with the money he's making, or he may have his sights set on accumulating enough money/assets to become a billionaire. Trophies are nice, but they don't spend.
i always have to wonder how many of these people have turned down a raise so that their employer can give that cash to another employee.

Answer is zero.

I haven’t seen that.

People who are fans and know football, have no issue with having someone on the bench who could potentially be there if opportunity came up.

Most of the people hating on Dak aren’t supporting Lance. They are asking for freaking cooper rush.

Any 8+ year starter in the NFL at any position has had their body brutalized, and not just for the season, but for the rest of their lives. Back, neck, ankles, brain…the list goes on. If I’m in a position to cash in for sacrificing my body and future health to play football, you can be sure i would be looking to make max $$$. Of course I’d want to win a SB, but it’s the front office’s job to assemble the talent and my job to do my best with what they give me.

That's alright.

Let em have the regular season stuff against losing teams.

Us Dak haters get the important games that matter and the entire off season every year after he fails miserably.
What’s funny is that’s exactly what you’re rooting for and then try to pretend you’re a Cowboy fan.

You’d rather they lose in playoffs so you can be right. Dak and Cowboys winning the Super Bowl would crush your soul .

I ride up-to-date performances, not knee-jerk, game-to-game reactions. Anyone who pays any attention to what I write (as opposed to maybe how) could see that.

My question is.

How can you not like Dak?

His talent level is at the top. I watch other teams. Their QBs aren't as good as ours. I see guys like Cousins, and I'm really impressed with him. But Dak is on that level or above it... And he's a on a better team.
As far as intelligence.. Really? At times, he can carry the team. He's shown that this year. I believe he's inspiring other players to make plays. I believe his leadership is making players say, hey, I want to play with that guy. He's really hanging in there well with all of the adversity thrown his way, on a week-to-week basis, and on the receiving end of the willy nilly press' impulsive reactions — to much of it that's out of his control.

He may have a bad game.

Show me a QB who doesn't. Happens. And maybe critics are right. You have to have players around you. But that goes for every team. Every year. So, no, it doesn't all come back on Dak.

No matter how many of you repeat that. And any fan, and especially opponents who love to join in on the "fun," they know that. So they try to amplify the hate.

The truth is, our fans, like Browns fans who used to wear bags on their heads, really skew a negative narrative that isn't fair to the team. They are a very likeable bunch. Look at guys like Bland.. Prescott. Ferguson, Parsons, Gallup.. all great guys.. who can really play some ball.

Everyone is so caught up in last year and the past that you can't enjoy an awesome winning season when we have one. When we're already in good position to make a run.

We don't need Henry or Saquan or whatever... we need to worry about our scheme, and playing to this team's full potential. If we do that, Any Given Sunday for the Cowboys in February.

At this point, Dak is a HOFer, and needs to forget the media, and focus on making his teammates want to play with him.

Get them on board. It's work. It'll take a few extra minutes a day. And maybe some thought, but he can do it. He has it all.

Not bad for a guy that I hear sucks from our fan base. And is no way he has more than Tony Romo from listening to fans here. Dak is terrible and can't read a defense or drop dimes (like he did today). This is AI created news lol.

BTW Great Job Dak. We got to keep pushing though. We MUST beat the Eagles at least once. I would love to beat them twice. It will be tough beating the Eagles and the refs in the Eagles home.

I'm curious...

For those who really dislike Dak Prescott.....Once the game starts do you root for Dak and do you hope he will play well and lead the Cowboys to a win?

Do you put your feeling and opinions to the side once the game starts? What is more important to you, that the Cowboys win or that you be proven right about Dak?

What would you prefer, to be right about Dak if the Cowboys are eliminated in the divisional round or to be proven wrong about Dak if he leads the team to a Super Bowl?

Even though you are a fan of the team, do you hope for the failure of any particular player?

In the past have there ever been a Cowboys player that you disliked because you felt he was hurting the team only to have that player redeem himself by making critical plays that sent the team forward? Have you ever changed your mind about a player you initially disliked?

If you could rank every Cowboys quarterback that was the starter for at least one season, where would you place Dak? Since becoming a fan, how many starting quarterbacks has there been?

I'll name mine in chronological order:

Craig Morton
Roger Staubach
Danny White
Gary Hogeboom
Steve Pelluer
Troy Aikman
Quincy Carter
Chad Hutchinson
Vinny Testaverde
Drew Bledsoe
Tony Romo
John Kitna
Matt Cassel
Dak Prescott
Andy Dalton

A quarterback is considered a starter for that season if he starts at least half the games or the most games.

Depending on when you first became a fan you would only use that part of the list relevant to you.

In my case, if Dak were to retire after last season then I would list him at #5. However, he still has the potential to move up since his career isn't finished. And, yes, he has the potential to move down as well.

Dak had a great game! Played well and was targeting and finding Lamb. It's about time they target Lamb! I have to give Dak credit and really enjoyed watching that performance. Let's hope this offense will build off of this.

You can thank Kellen Moore for that stat......
More like today’s easy rules for passers and receivers. Not to take anything away from Dak, he definitely balled, but I’m sure many of the teams in the league have a quarterback breaking records like this in the last 10 years. Roger Staubach would have had a field day with today’s rules.
