Romo's career 370 Yard games (7)

2009 vs Giants (392 YDs passing, 3 TDs, 0 INTs)
2010 vs Bears (374 YDs passing, 1 TD, 2 INTs)
2010 vs Titans (406 YDs passing, 3 TDs, 3 INTs)
2012 vs Giants (437 YDs passing, 1 TD, 4 INTs)
2012 vs Commanders (441 YDs passing, 3 TDs, 2 INTs)
2012 vs Saints (416 YDs passing, 4 TDs, 0 INTs)
2013 vs Broncos (506 YDs passing, 5 TDs, 1 INT)

Total: 20 TDs, 12 INTs

Dak's career 370 Yard games (7)

2018 vs Eagles (455 YDs passing, 3 TDs, 2 INTs)
2018 vs Giants (387 YDs passing, 4 TDs, 0 INTs)
2019 vs Giants (405 YDs passing, 4 TDs, 0 INTs)
2019 vs Packers (463 YDs passing, 2 TDs, 3 INTs)
2019 vs Vikings (397 YDs passing, 3 TDs, 1 INT)
2019 vs Lions (444 YDs passing, 3 TDs, 0 INTs)
2020 vs Falcons (450 YDs passing, 1 TD, 0 INTs)

Total: 20 TDs, 6 INTs

What I'm trying to illustrate here is 2 things:

1) When you pass for 370 Yards, interceptions are more common. So given the 2 QBs respective 370 yard games, Dak has thrown far less interceptions - while with an equal number of TDs, and an equal sample size amount. So even when situations are equal (370 YDs and 7 games), Dak is less likely to give the game away.

2) At this point I prefer Romo as a Quarterback, but I think Dak will easily surpass Romo when it's all said and done. He's only 2 games into his 5th year, and he's already equaled Romo's career 370 yard games. Wait till he gets to double that sample size, or even triple it. He'll go well ahead of Romo in career achievements.

Dak did it in less time as well.

Romo 2009-2013
Dak 2018-2020

Not bad for a game manager

Dak is clearly becoming the better overall QB (if he's not already).

Why are you choosing Romo at this point?

So Romo threw for 370+ yards in a game 7 times overall throughout his career. His first 370+ passing game came in his 4th year as a starter (7th overall as a Cowboys QB). Dak achieved that by his 3rd year overall. Romo's last 370+ yards passing game happened in 2013 by his 8th year as a starter (11th year overall as a Cowboys QB). Dak already threw for his 7th 370+ passing yard game barely starting his 5th year overall as a pro QB. It's safe to safe Dak is going to shatter all of Romo's records as he is starting to do in such a young career.

1 more playoff win and he ties Romo. 2 more and he passes him and makes the NFC championship game...... something Romo never did either.

The hate has gone past ludicrous at this point with Dak. The haters look more foolish every day

Of course Dak is gonna shatter Romo easily. I don't see how anyone can reason around that.

I don't really care about Dak vs Romo pissing contests. I love Dak. He's the QB now, and I think we have a really promising guy here who continues to prove his critics wrong each week. I love Romo too, but he's gone.... so 'nuff said about that. So hoo curs rly.

The hate has less to do about Dak, and more to do about let's see it. Your comment is purely hypothetical, until it happens. Otherwise, empty words. (BTW, I hope it happens. I love the kid)

Romo had Terry Glenn, Terrell Owen, Jason Witten and later on Dez Bryant. Yeah barely any talent.

I think people just like to exaggerate the divine mythical power of that Smith-Martin-Frederick-Free offensive line which Dak had in 2016. And they like to exaggerate the divinity of holy roman emperor Zeke. But they fail to realize that Dak was sacked 56 times in 2018. Romo has never come close to being sacked that much in a year. 36 was the highest amount of times he was sacked in a year. What good is so many star players if they don't do their jobs? Besides, Frederick was injured all of 2018 too.

Zeke hasn't looked like God since 2016, so people act like he's doing it all by himself since then. And even in 2016, Dak was MVP of lots of key games (Packers possibly, Packers playoffs, Eagles, Ravens, and possibly Steelers too..... basically the tougher opponents on our schedule), so that gets forgotten in history among the Dak haters. So it's not like Zeke's making life totally easy on Dak like Emmett made life so easy for Aikman much of the times.

Romo has had better receivers for his career. Amari Cooper is not Terrell Owens. Dak has only had 1 Pro Bowl receiver his whole career (Cooper). Romo has had several. Unless you count 2016 Dez and Witten as part of the Dak branch of receivers. (which I hope no one does) :lmao2:

Both Dak and Romo's defenses were generally terrible, so I'm not even gonna discuss that.

Why the comparisons with Romo?

Because why not? Also, it exposes and puts to bed the false narrative that Romo was elite; which he wasn't.

But Romo didnt succeed even though we gave him 'elite' money.

Why repeat history and do the same with another good but 'not elite' QB.

That's pretty cool. Impressive TD/INT ratio too.

When will this place be able to discuss comparing QB's without it being kindergarten level arguments?

I am curious to see what his production is going to be after they pay him. I doubt the team will be in a position to have the line and the caliber of talent around him once that massive contract is signed.
