Your love for Dak has clouded your responses. I'm not talking about defense. Dak is ok until it comes down to actually scoring under 2 minutes. He usually chokes. Like we just saw this week. Like we saw against the Eagles a few years ago. Same situation. It doesn't matter how good you are under two minutes if you can't finish. Defense has nothing to do with it.
In the last two minutes, he brought the team from inside the 5-yard line all the way down to the opposing 5. His coach told him to throw the ball away,
how is that choking?
They said if he hit his back foot, we didn’t have a timeout, but your bias might overlook how quickly he got the ball downfield, putting us in scoring position and tying the game. That’s clutch, not choking.
You’d blame Dak if he threw two passes that bounced off Pickens’ hands into an interception, fell incomplete and ran out the clock, or turned into a pick-six.
Maybe the defender was baiting George, who, by the way, pushed off and wasn’t open when Dak hit his back foot. By the time he decided to throw it out of bounds, George had just pushed off and gotten open. But what if he completed the pass and the ref flagged George for offensive pass interference? Don’t say it can’t happen; George gets plenty of those calls.
Everyone would’ve been quick to blame the coach and quarterback for poor clock management and missing the chance to tie the game with 7 seconds left, but now the focus is on the bad special teams.
That terrible kick gave the opponent a shorter field, one easy open pass, and no pressure, no tipped field goal like the one blocked against us earlier in the game. Where were those plays in the final seconds?
The defense had been struggling all game except for a few moments, and giving up 31 points to the Dolphins isn’t choking, it’s just bad defense. Special teams and defense should’ve made sure we were never in that position to begin with.
The loss came from both units failing, but your dislike for Dak is clouding your judgment. The coach told him to throw it away because if he hadn’t completed the pass and set up the field goal, people would’ve blamed him for that too.
That’s what haters do. You’re clouded and don’t see that with 31 points, winning the game should have been easy.
That field goal gave them a chance to go into overtime, which they should have, but the defense choked and the special teams performed poorly.
That loss isn’t on Prescott; they were in position to win because of him. The last two minutes were eaten up by a solid long drive and a field goal that tied the game, meaning he didn’t choke it away.
It’s ironic that he executed a perfect two-minute drive to tie the game, yet you see that as choking, which shows bias.
Our judgment isn’t clouded, we’ve watched a quarterback play great all year and last year, only to have every little thing nitpicked. You blame him for a loss that had nothing to do with his performance. Prescott should have led to 12 wins last season with the way he played, and this year they should be undefeated, but other factors got in the way, including a poor fan base.
Calling that choking is ridiculous; the great last drive tied the game, while what happened afterward, the defense struggling most of the game, blocked field goal, penalties, and fumbles, was actual choking. Prescott made up for all of that and tied the game.
