Well hopefully he wins like Tom Brady without deflating balls like Tom Brady, Tom Brady
Pretty genius!
Everyone who is comparing this scenario to the Brady-Bledsoe scenario or the Romo-Bledsoe scenario is forgetting one really important thing. Both Brady and Romo OUTPLAYED Bledsoe. Prescott has done no such thing here. He has played great, yes, but he has not outplayed Romo. And Romo doesn't even get a chance to compete.
I would pay to see Romo's 11 against Dak's 11. Same O-line and everything equal except for the QB.Everyone who is comparing this scenario to the Brady-Bledsoe scenario or the Romo-Bledsoe scenario is forgetting one really important thing. Romo himself said Dak earned the job:
"You see football is a meritocracy. You aren’t handed anything. You earn everything every single day, over and over again. You have to prove it. That’s the way that the NFL, that’s the way that football works. A great example of this is Dak Prescott and what he’s done. He’s earned the right to be our quarterback. As hard as that is for me to say, he’s earned that right. He’s guided our team to an 8-1 record, and that’s hard to do."

That doesn't mean he outplayed Romo. He's not in Romo's league yet. But he played well while Romo was out and the team is 8-1.
Number one rule of sports, don't *** with a streak.
He outplayed him by simply being on the field and available. Also-- his numbers over these past 8 games are on par with Romo's best 8 game stretch. Check out this article for the stats to back it up:

Not even close to on par. Romo has done it with absolutely no running game or pass protection.

You have to be available and on the field in order to compete. Injuries have kept Romo off the field the last 2 seasons, and that opened the door for someone to step up and be dependable. It sucks for Romo b/c he has given this team everything he has and had some rotten luck with getting hurt (the Avril hit still irks me), but he hasn't been healthy enough to compete with Dak.
It would be unfair to take the ball away from Dak this season after what the kid has done for this franchise. Romo acknowledged it as well.

Life ain't always fair.
Difficult circumstances require leaders to make difficult decisions.
Considering we're 8-1 and one of the top teams in the league (if not thee top team), I'll trust that our FO has handled that difficult decision correctly, and made the right call until the results on the field indicate otherwise.
Ah, you're such an old soul with your wise words. Life ain't always fair. That brings...absolutely nothing to the table. Yes, that's a great argument for not allowing Romo to compete, life isn't fair. Outstanding work.
