Dak Prescott is 22-25 (.468) against teams with a winning record during his entire career.

Please note that winning and losing is a team statistic, not a quarterback statistic. A quarterback cannot control how well his defense, special teams, or coaching staff perform. He can only do his best with the opportunities he gets1. Therefore, it is important to look beyond the win-loss record and consider other factors such as efficiency, consistency, clutchness, and leadership when evaluating a quarterback’s performance.

NFL QB records vs winning teams chart

As seen on our master QB record vs winning teams chart, there are only a handful of NFL quarterbacks that have a record above .500 against winning teams.
You can digest that information on your own. The only thing I want you to take away from this is that it is extremely rare to have a winning record against teams that finished the season with a winning record.

Does that include the playoffs? Probably not.

Such as no difference in Rodger’s and Dak, except the playoffs and a SB win for one of them.

I am surprised on how bad the win percentage is for Stafford and Cousins.
I am not. Cousins played for Washington for years and the Vikings while they were building up and Stafford had years with the Lions, who were a bad team almost his entire career. It just is further evidence that wins are a team stat and not a QB stat.

Seems like unless your Mahomes or Brady it's either about 50/50 or horrible record.

That's been the argument all along...people talk about how bad Prescott is against winning teams, yet he still ranks in the top10 of active QBs. Had he won two more of those he lost he would have been top 5. The margins between qbs playing against winning teams are very tight.

Cousins played for the Commanders who were a complete disaster and then the Vikings. Vikings defense bar a year was extremely bad and his OL was also trash until the last two years where they improved greatly.

Stafford should be common sense...

Why it's a team game. Granted Brady and Mahomes are unique examples as they tier above the rest

This is incorrect. The Dallas Cowboys Football Club is 22-25 during Dak's career...

I’m not. Cousins is a no risk taker stat padding player. He goes for least risk and signs for some of the highest in pay. Type of quarterback who will check down on a 4th and long because he can’t risk throwing a pick. Winning isn’t priority for him.
