I don't know. I've heard some Russell Wilson and Steve McNair comparisons. I don't see it. I think he has some nice strengths, but I don't see him as a legit NFL starter. I think he tops out as a nice backup who can fill in and win a few games.

They're comparing him to tebow

No way in hell is he the terrible passer that Tebow is. His mechanics are light years better than Tebow. He IS the type of guy that, if coached up, can be a very good QB. Most importantly, this dude makes everybody around him better. He has the same shot as any of the so-called can't miss guys (Goff, Lynch, etc...) to succeed. Hell, unlike Lynch, Prescott has shown repeatedly that he can make the "Pro" throws.

Not sure he's going to be an effective downfield passer in the NFL. Definitely not Tebow bad tho...somewhere between Tannehill and Alex Smith is probably his ceiling, more likely sticks around as a good backup for a while.

I would love to draft Dak late in the 6th and get him to the Practice Squad.

We should draft a QB like him a lot more often. Great athletes that can be coached up. Meanwhile they can help on STs and running some trick plays.

Imagine Prescott as the up back on every punt. Teams would never know if he was going to pull it down and run or fire it out to one of the gunners. Let him handle holds and fakes and 2 pt conversions are that much easier.

I am seeing Russell Wilson in him. Wouldnt be unhappy with a Dak pickup in the 3rd.He has wicked skills in the pocket and out.

Wouldn't mind that either. Better passer than Tebow and of course taller bigger than Russ.

He beat Memphis with 4TDs 380 yards. You don't get that yardage by being a terrible passer lol

He's a career backup at best. Poor man's Tebow without the unorthodox throwing motion.

A lot of people on this board like to evaluate players on one game, I've noticed.

I agree and disagree. I think his ceiling is a very good b/u QB. I disagree that he's a poor mans Tebow. Last year he wasn't great. Just looked like a thrower. This year he actually looks much more like a real QB. Tebow is honestly one of the absolute worst passers I've ever seen in the NFL. Just absolutely awful.

If they see something in him, I am all for another project, he is nowhere near a finished product and frankly there are better choices ahead of him. Here is my order of risk.
Connor Cook
Paxton Lynch
Jared Goff
Gunner Kiel
Christian Hackenberg
Carson Wentz
JT Barrett
Cody Kessler
Trevone Boykin
Cardale Jones
Everett Golson
Kevin Hogan
Dak Prescott
Joshua Dobbs
Malik Zaire
Patrick Towles

Interesting. Where do you rank Jacoby Brissett & Brandon Doughty?

I know this - I've seen him play many times the last 3 years, and he just keeps getting better and better as a QB, ESPECIALLY in his passing mechanics, touch, timing, etc.............I've also seen him throw the ball in wet weather games better than quite a few of the prospects that people keep mentioning as being better than him. His game against Mizzu this year was a thing of beauty - pouring rain and he still completes almost 68% of his 40 pass attempts for 300+..........what exactly did Lynch do in the rain yesterday?

Not saying he is Brady, Rogers, etc.................just cracking up how folks are writing him off as just a back-up already. Based on what?

Cook being number one is highly questionable. He's not a very accurate QB and that's one thing a NFL QB must be. He doesn't have elite running skills to make up for the fact he can be erratic with the ball. He's a massive risk IMO, especially if someone even contemplates taking him in the first round.

Tebow threw for 480-something yards in his last college game against Cincinnati. There's such a huge difference between passing in college and passing in the NFL.

Ok ok I just think Tebow had the weapons and that's where the yards after catch would get credited to him but yeah NFL and college very different.

Did you just compare him to Lynch using their best and worst game respectively? Bold

Obviously, I'm NOT using just that game as a comparison between these 2 prospects. The point I am illustrating however is that I've read so many folks going bonkers for the chance to draft either Goff or Lynch in the Top 10 when they have obvious questions about there games - yet, this guy (who also has questions to answer) is only destined to be a career backup? How does that work? While Lynch has a fabulous frame for a QB and a quick release, I still didn't see him (I saw him play 4 times this year) consistently make all the "Pro" throws - just like yesterday, a lot of quick (albeit accurate) passes. On the other hand, I've seen Dak at least 10 times the last 2 years and seen him make these throws, and his accuracy has been superb.
