Once we all get past the pros and cons our franchise qb presents what we all should be able to agree on is he’s enough to build around and enough to deliver a consistent playoff contender.

Yes, we’d much rather have a Rodgers or Mahomes but the reality is there simply aren’t enough of those caliber QB’s to go around. And we should be more comfortable with one of the QB’s in the next best group.

Much like the Cardinals appreciate being a playoff contender again than a 4-6 win team looking for a franchise QB.

Any team with a franchise qb in this best of the rest to above average should feel fortunate because it brings some stability and foundation to build around.

The rest is up to having a better front office and coaching staff to build around your franchise QB strengthening up other areas of weakness.

Dak was coming off an injury last year, still had a good start, hurt his calf....that type of injury lingers and will affect performance as well as play calling. He did have some poor games....was it all on him or did the poor line performance and injuries to Zeke and Pollard have something to do with that? Coop missed games, Gallup missed games, Cee Dee was third in drops in the NFL and Jarwin was out....many factors....at the end of the day, Dak is the face of the offense and needs to take a step forward this season. Hopefully, we can stay healthy and our OL steps it up, so that we can see what he can really do.

I'm not an owner, I don't care about just being good enough to make the playoffs. I'd rather not pay market value for a QB not worth market value. But I understand why owners do. So no, I don't agree.

We had a window with Dak, it's shutting. Next year we're not winning with him at QB with a 50M cap hit. They might push a little of that forward, but not much. He'll be at least 40M. That's why they are stockpiling cap space. To do just that.

After next year will be very interesting to see what the Cowboys do with his contract.

Same playoff record as Romo. Not good.
o_O It's best to wait another 8 years before making that assessment being Romo played 14 years verses Dak's 6.

That said, Romo & Dak are the ONLY quarterbacks after Aikman to win a playoff (s). Of those 10 in between quarterbacks, not even the great Drew McQueen Bledsoe won a playoff. What's that tell you?! It takes a very good quarterback to win against hideous coaching staffs.

Hopefully Dak won't be wasted as Romo was. Because I doubt we'll see a 3rd consecutive decent quarterback at center when Dak is finished.

What’s the matter with you? There’s nothing better than the Cowboys beating the Falcons and Giants during the regular season, then shot-gunning 12 beers before circling the couch in triumph.

I think it’s pretty obvious what they’ll do. They will either restructure or pony up and pay more with a new contract.

Fans might be a Super Bowl or bust mentality but ownership isn’t. Having a consistent playoff contender pays the bills. Much easier to hype , promote , etc than what 6-11 brings hoping they’ll find the next best Elite QB.

Over the second half of his career to this point he has provided neither stability nor competitiveness.

Injured three years in a row. One embarrassing playoff appearance.

Don't shoot the messenger. It is what it is.

Yes he did. His first one was actually this past season in OT against the raiders. That brutal pass to Noah brown.
Dak Prescott has never thrown an incompletion in overtime. Ever. In four career overtime games, Prescott has a stat line of 18 of 18 for 214 yards and three touchdowns. He is now 3-1 in games stretched to the limit with his only loss coming in 2018 against the Houston Texans.

Yep, agreed 100%. As a fan, I don't agree with it.

He's going to be a big cap hit next year. But then the Cowboys have to decide whether or not to extend him again after next year with one year left on his contract. But remember, whatever extension he gets after next season is going to include the 20+ million on the void years. We better hope those TV deals work out.

Yeah that’s wrong my man. Because we lost in overtime to the raiders
