Dak was coming off an injury last year, still had a good start, hurt his calf....that type of injury lingers and will affect performance as well as play calling.
Why some of our fanbase didn't acknowledge this is mind boggling!
It's real simple
If Dak plays like he did the first half of last season he is a huge asset.
If he plays like he did after the Pats game and during the playoffs he is a liability.
So another wards, let's hope the man stays healthy.

I think it’s pretty obvious what they’ll do. They will either restructure or pony up and pay more with a new contract.

Fans might be a Super Bowl or bust mentality but ownership isn’t. Having a consistent playoff contender pays the bills. Much easier to hype , promote , etc than what 6-11 brings hoping they’ll find the next best Elite QB.
Tampa.... just saying.

I have lived in a couple towns with good teams. KC and now Tampa. I like big Mike. It takes a bit of time to overcome what I refer to as "smartest man in the room syndrome", aka the Jones clan.

Let the pros make you look good. Use the folks that are great, or at least good, where you may have deficiencies or a blind eye. Not sure that will ever happen with my beloved Dallas Cowboys.

Listen to the people that know more about operations on the ground and trust them. Daft position or pay should not matter. Effectiveness matters.

I think Dak will do his best to improve each and every year that he can. These injuries will play havoc with any QB, for sure. I'm patiently awaiting the day when he gets it together like Romo almost did toward the end of his career. He might not win any Super Bowl, but he'll get this team solidly behind him, each and every time. Nothing wrong with that, right? Right!

Of course, there's nothing so wrong with him winning division championships, either. I'm hoping to witness that in 2022. Anything more than that would simply be frosting on the cake. Hey, I'm an easy guy to please -- maybe you should be, too. So, let it be written, so let it be done! Amen. :D

Not trying to argue with you bro. Just because we lost dont mean he threw a incomplete pass. There was a pass that looked incomplete but there was a flag or something that changed it. I remember commentators commenting on his record..

The last play in overtime the Cowboys had vs LV was an incomplete pass from Dak before they had to punt:

I wonder if they made the fact before that game. I almost want to say I remember the commentators saying for some reason they didn’t count it as incomplete. Not sure.

Perhaps it was a stat stated ay the end of the 4th propping up the fact that they were going overtime

You know the more I thought about this the more you are right.

He never really had a realistic chance with those 8-8 teams (that were really 5-11 without him). 2016 was the year we had a shot. I kind of feel the same about last year with Dak. I don't think we will have a better chance because I think he will slowly decline in both physical attributes and confidence and frankly the team is just not that good.
What was really wasted that year was the O Line. . . That was the identity and strength of the team Zeke and Dak were just along for the ride.

Romo would have been the perfect Compliment to Zeke and that Line . . . 100% Championship . . . Instead Jerry got cute and started thinking about Future Marketing and Sales.

This is why I never hated Dak, I just haven't been enamoured with him like alot of posters here, but I feel a lot of people created this larger then life image of Dak in order to justify throwing Romo to the curb

No I never have hated Dak . . . Its Jerry that I dispise
