That was not the point.
Not the average, it was games won throwing less than 200 yards, as opposed to game won throwing for over 300 yards.
I do not have a link to the article, or maybe it was in a tweet. I do not do twitter.
It was in a thread on here a month or so ago.
And it does make sense, if you read my post.

Sorry, i'm not debating a made up fact. You can't remember if its a quote, article, tweet......... your just pulling sh#t out of your a $$.

These numbers are surely incorrect. Dak has taken a total of 23 sacks. They weren’t all on 3rd down.

The proper way to challenge the numbers in the original post is to get data on 3rd down distance to go and see how that affects the rankings.

Edit: OCC also used total attempts rather than 3rd down attempts to arrive at his numbers. Straightforward confusion on his part.

Good find.

Here are his 3rd down stats:
33 completions on 56 attempts(58.93%)
For 296 yards- 5.3 yards per attempts & 8.97 yards per comp
15 passing 1st downs

Only 1 resulting in TD with 11 sacks
8 rushes for 40 yards and 1 TD
With four rushing 1st downs

3rd down 4-6 yards to go
7 of 11, 58 yards, 4 1stDowns, and 4 sacks
2 rush attempts neither resulting in 1st

3 down 7-9 to go
6 of 14, 48 yarss, 4 1stDowns, and 2 sacks
1 rish attempt which resulted in 1st

3 down 10+
16 of 22(THATS WAY TOO MANY 3RD AND LONGS), 143 yards, 4 1stDowns, and 4 sacks
1 rush attempt that didnt make it

A balanced attack of both running and passing is the best thing for a QB and team. If the team can run for 120-150 yards/game and have a QB thrown for 175-200 yds a game, chances are your winning that game.

I wonder what the percentage would look like with all of the conversions that were brought back or the ones that had balls dropped. Or the ones that were give up screens....

I am just disenchanted with "next gen" stats because they seem to only tell a part of the story. Not just for qbs but for anything.

I think most, if not all, would agree this is a stat you can't entirely blame the QB.

We have to do a better job with this stat. No question Dak has his issues but there are lots of variables also not helping (drop passes, 3rd and long, OL breakdown etc). Either way, I'm guessing a large part of our offensive problems are part of this stat

A more correct title would read “Cowboys passing offense ranked 32nd”

finally he's #1 at something a qb should do!

#1 on the worst list- to clarify.

Here's an excerpt from an NFL.com article last year.

"Key takeways: On first down, almost every team in the league maintains some semblance of balance. Once you take the Brown's and Cowboy's out of the equation..."

Nuff said, don't even need to read the rest of the article.

Name a good QB that averaged 200 yards passing.......... in the last 30 years. Good luck. Post the article b/c that makes no sense. ........

Tom Brady: First two years Y/G = 212

Dak Prescott: First two years Y/G = 218

So 22 times we've 3rd and 10+ yards and have given up 11/12 3rd down sacks ? Am reading this right?
