It's time for all of us to come to terms with reality. No matter what you say "he'll never win the Super Bowl", "He can't com thru in big moments", "Lance 2024" or whatever..... he's gonna be the Cowboys QB for a long long time. Nobody ranked this high year in and year out is in danger of losing his job. Stop fantasizing that Dak is going anywhere.

I see him as 8-12 earlier this season closer to 12 lately closer to 8, but can he play well against non NFC East contending teams? I want to see some great games vs
Bills
Seahawks
Dolphins
Lions

In Defense of Dak, I do think his weapons are bottom 10 in the league. At this point you have to say Cooks has fell off, Gallup shouldn't be on the field. How he let the Cowboys get rid of Cooper he should be ashamed of himself for that.

When you use these teams you've listed as a measuring stick for Dak, can we take into account that he's going to have to prove himself without proper blocking and a weak run game???

Or is he the only quarterback who's expected to overcome vs those great teams without the blocking and running game?

I'm just trying to understand how this goes. Dak is sometimes given a different measuring stick than other quarterbacks, that's why I ask.

Yeah, that's my entire case for Dak.

Watch this:

NFL personnel, from players and coaches to scouts and execs, ALL ranked Dak as a top 10 QB in polls conducted this past offseason.

Every single QB efficiency metric has Dak as a top 10 QB this season.

The Cowboys are 5-3.

Ouch.

There's literally no argument you can make AGAINST Dak as a top 10 QB, is there?

LOLLLL the OP already DESTROYS every single anti-Dak argument. I'm just piling on here.

You people literally have nothing. Bottle up those tears for me when Dak signs his next deal, will you?
:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Oh yeah, I forgot, you also have fantasy stats to build a case on. Good one.

Your comment about his contract pretty much says it all. You appear to take more delight in Daks salary line than you do cowboys victories. Shocker

Unfortunately you are correct about one item. I also fully expect Jerry to sign Dak to a huge extension. That would be the most Jerry thing to do. Apparently your football discernment is in lock step with that of Jerry Jones. Congratulations. I'm sure you're proud

Dakazoids need to stop this nonsense.
They're an insecure bunch. They scour every news article to either tear down another quarterback or find something positive about theirs. The fact is if he was truly that good and had some trophies on his mantle they wouldn't have to try to manufacture some groundswell of support for him

Sadly yes it does

See post above as well. It isn't about cowboys victories. It's about "Daks getting paid, eat it haters!"

That's what Jerrys tenure has reduced much if this fan base to.

Pretty dang sad. It wasn't always this way
It said it all to me when last year they were openly rooting against Cooper Rush when he was winning games and celebrated like they won the Super Bowl when he finally lost the game to the Eagles

These people on this forum can barely throw a football, let alone judge a Qbs play.

when my opinion he's entering his 2014 tony romo part of his career and anybody who doesn't want them here, doesn't understand most of our issues are with team deficiencies and problems are all over the team on why we lose these big games.

I'm not calling the guy Peyton manning or any other great quarterback however, many didn't win a super bowl or a big game until after year 7 and some even later.. so maybe Prescott needs to leave and go win a sb somewhere else possibly OR us fall into a 5YEAR HOLE OF 5-12 -8-9 TYPE NO PLAYOFF no hope SEASONS for our fanbase to really see the difference... i know it sounds odd but i think fans are truly spoiled by our tony romo to prescott transition. they forget how bad it truly can be. and please don't start with the we h....here because we're the Dallas cowboy and its sb or bust..lol that left a long time ago.. we are still top team in the league and that being under appreciated.

in my opinion Prescott is not elite he's not an all-time hof type qb but he is Pro bowler with top 10 or above skills and getting rid of him just for the sake of change is not the right direction ie this team could be a setback for 5-10 years..

i still find it very ironic that fans around here don't take a look around at the quarterback landscape from like 16 to 32.... they somehow believe we could just flip a switch and have a better quarterback here no time. 3

i truly believe some of these fans need to experience some really bad days again to understand the difference of disappointing bad to simply coming up just short....

look i'd like to win an NFC championship game and go to a super bowl as wellas the next fan but im not willing to endure those types of seasons by rebooting for no reason ie fans think an all-in or full reboot would somehow be better..

I think fans are often unfair to Dak, but weekly power rankings aren’t a fair judge either. It’s really just based on what people have done in recent weeks. Was Dak an entirely different player 3 weeks ago? Of course not, he’s just had a few strong games. A QBs talents and ability don‘t change on a weekly basis.

I am not so much against power rankings. They do generate conversation. It is sources generating particular lists that I find tedious. Examples:
  • Media members, most of whom barely or never played the sport they are judging.
  • What I call super-secret agent undercover informants, so called sports insiders like owners, general managers, coaches, etc., whose names cannot be revealed  in order to obtain an opinion.
  • Poorly conceived voting systems like the NFL Top 100, where currently active players basically are handed a sheet of paper with lines, asking who their favorites are. It is a system barely better than how beauty pageants are conducted.
What I would not mind seeing is a panel of 25-100 ex-coaches, ex-managers, ex-front office personnel, ex-players, etc., from every sport, who do not hold any professional allegiance with a franchise, league, etc. These types of judges would not be bound to secrecy in order to get their opinions. They would have the necessary background knowledge for evaluating the worth of a football, baseball, basketball, etc., player comparable to their peers. Something similar to the USA Today Coaches poll, where the names of actual college coaches are printed along with the poll they vote on.

Granted, that is personal pipe dream. Even so, I think such published evaluations would be met more critically by consumers if they knew the people doing the judging are among the best who could do so. The best opinions available now are usually single evaluators, uniquely knowledgeable about specific positions, who are often guests of a talking sports head show, doing breakdowns. Guys like Mike Martz or Kurt Warner. Unfortunately, these assessments come from individual sources instead of a good-sized group consensus.

Nothing to do with what he commented about and you show a highlight reel of a preppie comment. He served and you haven't...grow up.

This is America and dreams do come true...even for some of America's team who can't carry water in a bucket because it has a hole in the top.

Playoffs haven't even started. Losing to the Eagles doesn't have any correlation with ability to win in the playoffs.
Well if the loss prevents them from getting home field advantage, which it certainly could, and they are a much better home team then the fact they would have to play on the road in the playoffs means a less likely chance to win - hence you are wrong, the loss does have a correlation with ability to win in the playoffs
