Dak stats when facing the blitz since Week 12

Spags rolled the dice and it bite him. but with our weapons sitting back isn't a real comforting thought either...

I think the video shows how important that it is that receivers come back for the ball. There's a play at one point where a KC receiver doesn't and the corner comes up and bats the ball down. Pickens plays this pass perfectly. He not only comes forward but also steps back toward the inside of the field toward Dak, pretty much guaranteeing that he's going to get to the ball ahead of the DB.

In the ohio state Michigan game...the TV told us how tate came back to the qb for the ball. And how pro that move is.

It's proof the qb needs good receivers.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think this has always been one of his strengths.
I think it has. When teams are able to rush with 4 and play zone he tends to struggle. But against the blitz he’s effective.

Not to take away from Dak, he’s always been pretty good against pressure but this is why so many in here were begging for a WR upgrade last year behind Lamb. Teams can bring extra pressure but they can’t bring pressure and double two stud WRs.

So much of football is simple math and if you can’t get pressure with 4 against the cowboys this year you’re automatically beaten in the secondary as lamb and Pickens are both considered open against single coverage.

IMO, Best way to beat Dak is take away the running game (he's usually near top on play action passing) and create pressure with 4 men while you give him heavy zone coverage. Always seems ready to make a bad decision at some point in zone.

Isn’t it supposed to though? They ARE receivers right? Football IS sometimes throw and catch right? That IS the only way to move the ball forward right?
LOL. How dare he throw to his top 2 receivers! :muttley:
