Herbert had MUCH better pass protection than Dak, but played a MUCH worse game!

That is a FACT!

Dak was forced to scramble around ALL game long. He was sacked 4 times( one was maybe his fault, but no one was open on that one!). BUT, Dak was still able to move the team down the field when he needed to. He was able avoid the rush on enough plays, and make really good throws, to help lead us to victory. The running game didn’t help Dak either. The FG drive was excellent!

On the other hand Herbert missed wide open receivers, with no pressure, throughout the game.

Herbert was not clutch, Dak was.

Last week, I was ready to give up on Dak, but tonight he looked very good considering he was forced to carry the offense.

I will say the D played EXCELLENT. They were put in a lot of tough situations and only gave up 17 points. Micah came thru with the big sack AND Gilmore, played like the smart veteran he is, and jumped the route on the int!!!!!!!

Dak had some misfires.
Golden Boy had more.

Dak got into FG range in the clutch.
Golden Boy choked in the clutch.

Dak is now 2-0 vs Golden Boy.

That's also the number of playoff wins they each have.

I know most fans would take Justin Herbert over Dak in a heartbeat but this is his fourth season, and he’s not winning a lot of games. After the loss today his career record is 27-27. He puts up numbers but he’s basically Matt Stafford 2.0.

I wouldn't. He's not bad, but he's nothing special. Yes he is athletic and has a strong arm and is 6'6 and has great receivers and can't get it done.

Stafford needed a top 3 coach AND a top flight defense to win. Not to mention Cupp and Beckham. If Herbert gets all that he can probably win too. He's winning nothing with Kellen I know that much

Disagree. Herbert was harassed a ton, but moved enough to escape. His bad misses were due to pressure.

Dak was a mixed bag. Missed some wide open huge plays, and was at time a dear in headlights in the pocket. Other times he made good plays to extend things.

Herbert was playing against a much better defense.

If he was playing for a loaded team there’s a good chance he would would win, but he makes his share of mistakes. We all saw the missed throws to open receivers tonight. He was part of the debacle in the playoffs last year, when his team coughed up a 27 point lead to Jacksonville.

He is just Matt Stafford with better arm talent and physical traits. For all of the freak plays Herbert makes that make you think he’s an alien, he will follow it right up with a pretty bad misfire.

I think the Chargers may be in purgatory with him for a while unless they can build a better roster to surround Herbert.

Both QBs faced an enormous amount of pressure - let's not roll out that excuse. They're some dudes on the defense on both fronts (Bosa, Mack, Parsons)...... it's reasonable to think they'll be a lot of pressure.

Herbert came up short because he's pretty much the worst QB in the league under pressure. A graphic came up on the NFL network on his QB rating under pressure (33.0) vs (124.0) without pressure.

I dunno Dak's stats under pressure, but Im pretty sure it's better than that.

You probably won’t find a top five QB ranking that doesn’t include him, but it’s based on the numbers he puts up. He puts up a lot of yards and TDs, but it comes down to winning games and he’s coming up short in that area. If the numbers aren’t equating to wins, who cares.

Not sure he has any better arm talent than Matt Stafford, who has great arm talent himself, which is why he was the number one overall pick years ago.

I don’t know if I would say Dak was clutch. He played great, especially since the offensive line didn’t show up tonight. What Dak did well was he didn’t turn the ball over and a couple plays he salvaged and made something of it. To me clutch is a 4th quarter comeback. I would say Dak played better than “clutch” because he had to rise above his offensive line and coach. This is definitely Dak’s best game this season.

Herbert was awful. Partly from our defense and partly because he just sucked. He played the way I thought Dak would play.

Defense played great. Defense was clutch by getting a sack and a TO to win the game.

The refs were awful. I think some of them need rotator cuff surgery from throwing so many flags.

Good win for us and we get 2 weeks to enjoy it.

Dak didn't look good. Got sacked when it wasn't needed. Overthrew WR's all night. Was terrible at executing the tush push. Consistently threw short of the first down marker. It was painful to watch him run the offense.

Kellen Moore is just playing possum for a greater plan. He's playing 4D chess while everyone else is lagging behind.
